What do you listen to on a Sunday morning?

I've just done my usual Sunday morning glitch of asking Alexa to put radio 4 on while I potter about getting ready and immediately turning it off again because it's the Archers omnibus. I like speech radio while I'm doing my make up, tidying the bedroom etc, but I wouldn't want a podcast as I like to listen to them in one go, so not 10mins here and there while I'm a long snout the house. 5 live is often too sporty at the weekends. What do you listen to?

The Archers omnibus, sorry. Smile

The Archers then Desert Island Disks. Then Paul O’Grady at tea time.

Radio 2 on from 9am here. We gleefully look forward to EP at 1pm to see if the following happens.
A. She plays with herself
B. The number of times she does that feckin laugh
C. The shout outs for local am drams, especially when they do it in a fake voice like a character from Calamity Jane (me and DP shout out Hi Elaine!! at this point.
We don’t get out much.

maddiemookins16mum · 09/06/2019 10:43

She plays herself (as in one of her ‘hits’) not she plays with herself.

Whatthefunk · 09/06/2019 10:45

Jason Manford, on Absolute radio

Singlenotsingle · 09/06/2019 10:49

Steve Wright Love Songs, Michael Ball, then the radio goes off when EP arrives. Can't stand that laugh.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 09/06/2019 10:55

Oh, I heart mad old Elaine. Unfortunately, DP doesn’t like show tunes, so I only get to listen when I’m on my own. So it’s R4 here until the Archers omnibus and then silence.

Birds, kids, animals - that's quite enough noise to be listening to on a Sunday morning without the radio on top!

ASauvignonADay · 09/06/2019 10:57

@maddiemookins16mum 😂😂😂

It's not speech radio BUT we enjoy BBC 6 music on Sunday mornings. Especially Cerys Matthew's who brings a ridiculous eclectic mix - fancy a but of Peruvian jazz fusion? Cerys is your woman! It's one to sink into.

notacooldad · 09/06/2019 11:04

I usually listen to Planet Rock or a podcast.

Maybe I should consider a music station, although I much prefer speech radio on a weekend morning, it just feels gentler. I ended up on radio 4 extra listening to an old Desert Island discs, which did the job. I wish there was something else for when the Archers is on, i know lots of people love it, but it takes up such a chunk of radio 4 on a Sunday.
