Would you place a child's bed next to an air vent in a chimney breast?

Changing rooms around in my 30s house and the only place to put my child's bed would be next to the chimney breast which has an air vent in it. The headboard would go up against it. Has anyone else got a similar set up as I've started worrying they'll be breathing in old fireplace dust as they sleep (downstairs is also blocked up now with a vent so wouldn't be used).

Am I being precious?

It wouldn’t worry me.

Assuming the fireplace is blocked up and unused any soot or dust left would be nominal. What is more of a concern is blocking up the air vent and hindering the circulation of air in the void behind, which can cause issues with damp/condensation on the walls.

Yes unused. And the one below is too
