Fil passed away just over a year ago so we try to keep things low key and get a balance of emotions

Nothing. We don’t do mother’s day or Father’s Day.

We do lots of nice things for each other throughout the year.

So far I have one a DD's foot prints to use on a card and DD and I are going to a craft morning the day before so I'm hoping she can make something to give to him there. I'll also get him so beers and take him for lunch.

Toblerone, Maltesers and 'man spray', dd's are 4 and 6 and I ask them what they want to get him, the presents are from them not me.
It's the same on mother's Day, I'd hate to receive anything clearly chosen by dh.

I see that may look like I'm advertising! But no, I just thought a link would be easier than listing it's many functions... also buying lots of red wine to fill a new rack he recently bought and will make his favourite cake

An adopt a Spitfire! DP is ww2 mad and its his favourite plane! He would get a years subscription to be a Spitfire Ace and can visit the hanger to see them too.

Home made cards, perhaps a cartoon or story, and breakfast in bed (will require my help). Dd plans to bake a cake (I just need to do the oven). We don't tend to buy stuff for the sake of it.

We've bought DFil tickets to a talk he'll be interested in.
