I see it has singing and the trailer looks okay. Anyone seen it?
PG can range so much....

Yes I think it would be fine. It’s the same as the animated film.

Shahlalala · 07/06/2019 20:17

Perfect, thank you!

DH took dd1 who's just turned 6 and he thought it was a bit scary for her - she's not admitting it but she leapt onto his lap half way through! She hasn't seen a lot of films tho, she's not got a huge amount of experience of the standard formula of scary bit, then happy ending.

Yes can't think of anything that was particularly scary. It's more like the stage show than the animated film. Long though.

NeverKnewINeverKnew · 07/06/2019 21:04

DS is 6. He is fine with (for instance) Jurassic Park but he found it "very scary". So depends on the child really...

neversleepagain · 07/06/2019 21:09

My six year old twins didn't find it scary, they really enjoyed it.

Teenytinyvoice · 07/06/2019 21:13

I took my 3 year old, and she was fine sat on my knee. My six year old never flinched.

Shahlalala · 07/06/2019 21:18

Thanks all! Appreciate it!

My 3yr old loved it although did find some bits scary, still wanted to watch it again though!

reluctantbrit · 07/06/2019 21:53

We had a girl next to us, around 5-6, she got bored and they left after around 1/2 way through.

I would say if your DS can sit through a normal movie and likes the story it will be ok.

ElphabaTheGreen · 07/06/2019 21:57

Took DS1 and some of his school friends, including two four year old siblings, for his seventh birthday. It’s perfectly age appropriate, just dull. One of the four year olds slept through half of it.

Will Smith ain’t no Robin Williams.

Eyre89 · 07/06/2019 21:58

My 5 year old absolutely loved it. He was cackling at the genie. Weirdly the only bit that upset him is the bit where aladdin gets banished by jafar to the snow.

Fourfantasticfrogs · 07/06/2019 22:01

Yep no problems here took my 3 year old and 7 year old. 3 year old sat on my lap but wasn't scared at all. She loved it

DowntonCrabby · 07/06/2019 22:02

We absolutely loved it. DS is 6 but I’d have happily taken him at 3/4/5.

DowntonCrabby · 07/06/2019 22:07

@Elphaba Sad very true re Robin Williams. Will was great though. also why couldn’t you have stayed calm for once?

HairToday79 · 07/06/2019 23:32

All our lot thought it was brilliant, not dull at all!

PodgeBod · 07/06/2019 23:35

I took my 4 1/2 year old, she thought it was ok but got restless. I enjoyed it more then her.

ElphabaTheGreen · 08/06/2019 04:59

I hope you’re happy, Downton Wink

Smellybluecheese · 08/06/2019 09:02

My 4.5 year old got scared at the bit with Jafar towards the end before he gets sucked back into the lamp. Otherwise she loved it.

Shahlalala · 08/06/2019 14:15

Thanks everyone. We are going to take her, but a sickness bug has got me and DD at current so maybe not a cinema day....
