Looking for some advice as the insurance company is closed for the day.
DD1 was driving along a narrow farm type road, another car came towards her so they both moved as far over as possible but the wing mirrors struck each other. Her car is fine but the glass has popped out the other car. Other driver is yelling and saying it will be approx £600 to replace glass but helpfully he knows another way of replacing it for £275 which he wants us to pay.
Obviously not keen to do that, not terribly keen to go down insurance route either as she has a bump a few weeks after passing her test 3 years ago when she was 17 so premiums are still high. From a bit of googling it doesn’t appear we will lose the excess as her car isn’t damaged. (It’s £650 so I’m hoping that’s right)
Does anyone know what the insurance would do? No damage to her car and no ones fault really. In hindsight, one of them probably should have revered back to slightly wider part of the road but didn’t.
Argh! We were hoping to see a reduction in premiums on renewal this year.
Any advice would be v welcome.
