I ate cooked chicken that was still frozen!

Hi, I popped into a bakery earlier and bought a chicken mayo sandwich. Came home and was munching into it and realised the chicken was still frozen!

I rang the shop they said the filling is cooked somewhere else comes in frozen and they defrost it and put in it the sarnies/salads, v apologetic will look into it etc.

So am I going to be ill? Logic tells me that if it's been cooked then frozen i should be ok? Any clever people out there who know about these things?

You will probably be ok. Not very nice though and I'd expect at least a refund / voucher from the shop!

Yuck. I doubt you would actually get ill though unless there was an interruption on the freezing process along the way.

Once it was defrosted, was it going to be reheated/cooked again before you ate it? If the answer is no, and I expect it is, than there is no more danger of being ill than had you eaten it when it had defrosted (arguably less danger since defrosting it thoroughly would have allowed more time for the bacteria to multiply). Not very nice though and they ought to be more careful.

No it was a cold sandwich, I'm thinking along the same lines as you.

It wasn't very nice apart from being frozen, never again.
