So long boring story short I had an incredibly heavy period a week ago and the out of hours doctors sent me to a and e to get a drip of transexamic acid.

So anyway I had that - was embarrassed to be at a and e for a period and came home with a tablet version.

The next day I had a high temp and felt sick /upset stomach etc. Gradually got better until yesterday I was actually starting to feel normal again.

BUT I woke up the morning feeling sick again and now with a really annoying stiff nagging pain on one side of my back (I never get a bad back!) and I’m starting to feel feverish again!

I have made a doctors appointment for next Thursday -( earliest non emergency appointment ) but I’m starting to wonder if I have picked up a stomach bug at the hospital or something . I’m hoping to be better by Thursday obviously!

I can’t think of any reason a heavy period would make me sick with back pain so the only logical explanation is that I went in for the period and came home having picked up something new ....right?

Any opinions welcome because I’m bored of this now !

I don't want to alarm you but a poster on here a couple of years ago had similar symptoms to you (v heavy unexplained bleeding and pain / fever) and almost died. It turned out she had a serious womb infection which went onto become sepsis. She went downhill very quickly at the end.
Pain in your back can absolutely be caused by your womb (hence why people feel it there in labour).
See a Dr tonight.
