I'm reading through some good old Classics and come across a thread about a man sitting on the sofa with only a t shirt on; cock and balls out, poo crumbs, the lot. Lots of posters are saying 'boak' in obvious disgust but I can't work out what it means. The closest I get is Balls On A Kouch. Then Google informs me it is actually a word meaning an episode of vomiting.
Thanks mumsnet - my new favourite word.
If only I knew how to pronounce it.....

Like soak but with a B at the start. I thought it was just a Scottish word - obviously not!

I think it’s pronounced “bowk” - bow as in hair bow, not bow as in bow to your leader. Who knows!!!

Minkies11 · 04/06/2019 22:14

I love it.
I'm going to use it as sort of a code word and see if anyone I work with reacts. Then I'll know they are possibly mumsnetters!
I work with 4 women and 60 men though. .

May also be spelt boke

Heymummee · 04/06/2019 22:15

Where I live people say “bork” which means the same thing! Always makes me laugh

pigeonscooing · 04/06/2019 22:38

I like 'Squeeeeee!!!'

Generally to be found on threads with kitten pics.

Ireland boke means vomiting

whatsthecraic91 · 04/06/2019 22:41

*in Ireland

Boak is a common word in Scotland meaning to be sick, pronounced “b” as in boat and “oak” as in oak tree. So I’d say

“Stop doing that you’re giving me the boak” or “it was so disgusting I nearly boaked” or if a friend posted on Facebook that they fancied Donal trump I’d comment “boak”.

Luckily being Scottish the word “spew” can also be used 😂

Oh best I say never google Dragon Butter then, folks.

Minkies11 · 05/06/2019 12:11

Thanks.
BOAK!
