First Brownie camp for girls and leaders - unbelievable success!

Just a small self satisfied post that our first camp with our Brownies, which was the first for our leaders too (experienced helper leader with us to help and support) was an incredible success! Our youngest is 7, our oldest 10, and not one of them cried once! They had a great day and night, and at our pow wow before pick up asked when then next one is Wink It was so much stress to prepare and we spent so long thinking about but it went so smoothly, and we all really enjoyed it.

I am enjoying my wine tonight though Grin

I used to love going on Brownie pack holiday.

Thanks for running it. Smile

Excellent news.
Well done to you and all your team.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 02/06/2019 22:33

I'm glad you enjoyed yours so much Molly Smile I think only two of our 18 girls had stayed with anyone other than relatives before so they had so much fun. Apparently the dorm was the second best bit (an ice-cream mid hike was the best - so easily pleased)!

My daughter loves brownies and I think would make it her full time occupation if she could. Grin
The amount of work and planning and effort that these events take is HUGE. So although you didn’t take my daughter thank you. To you and every other volunteer that allows these kids to have such brilliant experiences. You are all Star
Wishing I could buy you a Wine too. Grin

Well done from a fellow leader!!

SingingSands · 02/06/2019 22:41

Well done! Experiences like this will stay with these girls forever. Great work.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 02/06/2019 22:43

Thanks Wolfie , I've just topped myself up on your behalf Wine.

It was great to see the new friendships emerging over the two days, when they paired up on the hike and their activities. They were so funny and excited about the little things. We were an hour late heading off on our hike because they were so seriously settling into their bunks and unpacking Grin

Delighted your daughters enjoy these trips. It makes the work worthwhile.

Good job. Don’t skimp on it!
Things like the ice creams are little things to you but the girls will always remember them. The confidence they grow is amazing.

I learnt the song zipedee dooodaa zippedee yey on brownie camp (or was it called brownie revels then) about 40 years ago. Still makes me happy thinking about it. My DD is going on scout camp this weekend to same place. Thanks to all brownie and scout leaders. Enjoy your 🍷

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 02/06/2019 22:53

We were amazed when the girls started an impromptu sing song on the hike yesterday, Lancs. They knew the words to so many of the songs, we were really impressed especially since after two years they still get two of our Owls' names mixed up

I fell over and fractured my ankle within an hour of arriving on my first pack holiday. First accident in 25 years! I never went on another.
