Names that rhyme with/ sound like Buddy?

I'm getting a rescue dog and his name is Buddy. Trouble is I really hate the name.

I'm thinking at his age (5) it's not fair to completely change it but maybe I could tweak it slightly so it's not a massive jump?

Any ideas?

You might find that you don't need it to rhyme with his original name, I've renamed 2 adult dogs and was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they took to their new names!

I wouldn't worry too much about what you change it to - we ended up keeping our rescue dog's name but we were intending to change it, so I did some research, and it all said that dogs adapt really well to new names (and in fact may be beneficial as a "new start" kinda thing if he's had a difficult life previously)

Don't tie yourself to a like sounding name. The dog won't know or care.

DontCallMeShitley · 01/06/2019 16:58

Find some you like and see which ones he responds to, then pick one.
