Went to a wildlife park today and rescued him from an ant moat, onto a leaf; he’s very pretty and seemed to be some sort of crickety thing! Can anyone advise?

Maybe a type of shield bug? Or a froghopper?

FlibbertyGiblets · 29/05/2019 20:45

Some sort of stiltbug?

Olivetree615 · 29/05/2019 20:48

I’m afraid he was none of the above Sad he was just more cricket - hopper type!

Probably just a cricket nymph. We get lots round here (oak bush-crickets), but not with stripy legs. The adults are really surprisingly large.

Speckled Bush Cricket nymph.
And when you say’rescued’ are you sure he wasn’t there eating the ants and you removed him from his dinner 😂

Olivetree615 · 29/05/2019 21:05

No don’t worry Judashascomeintosomemoney I know for sure because I may have accidentally pushed him into the water in the first place Grin
I will google now to see if we have a match!

To be honest the first picture doesn’t do his colours justice- I have attempted to zoom! He had both green and blues on him so doesn’t look like a bush nymph? I honestly have no idea..

No idea but he's a pretty little creature. Totally random but I love the colour of your nail polish!

Olivetree615 · 29/05/2019 21:33

Thank you Fraxion! Isn’t he lovely!
My nail colour is a gel called ‘impulsive’ from the gel bottle inc. Grin

Thank you! I haven't had gel nails for a while. I occasionally get them for holidays but find they don't last long before peeling off, literally due to the amount of time we spend in water. Might get them done for our next holiday as the last 10 nights we are staying in a resort which includes two spa treatments each per day, including mani/pedi.

Totally derailed the thread sorry 😳

Oh how lovely Fraxion! Have a great time!! I cannot live without my nails Grin!!
