Where should I go on holiday?

I am a lone parent to a 7 year old boy. Always done holidays in the UK but our old dog passed away earlier this year so now I guess there are more options. I don't know what I want to do though.

Part of me thinks we should go abroad but I don't have a lot of money and I'm a bit nervous of going alone.

Was thinking about glamping maybe if in UK.

Was also wondering about Jersey and Guernsey. Anyone been?

Any advice for lone parent destinations? The organised lone parent hols are too expensive

Someone inspire me!

We have done jersey recently - I have a thread in short haul topic with some great recommendations.
Flying was cheap if your flexible with flights etc and you can get the bus around easily.
You can stay at Jersey zoo they have a hostel type place and glamping which is lots of fun.
If he loves animals that would be perfect
You can also spend a few cheap days at the beach

The glamping is on the same webpage

you could look at renting an airbnb like this near Worthing, which is by the sea. If you bring your bikes you will be able to go on cycle rides and its a 15 minute walk to the town centre from the property i linked x

Glamping is great and i see loads of single parents doing it. Probably one of the cheapest holidays too. These camping pods in yorkshire are £35 per night.
