What do you do with your evenings?

How do you spend your evenings? My other half is out all evening and I find myself just sat on the sofa scrolling through fb/mumsnet. I need to find a hobby or something to do but preferably something that doesn't cost too much money.

Dh is out on a few evenings most weeks so I like to read, play video games or crochet watching a boxset/listening to podcasts, paint my nails, and I occasionally rent films to watch.

I lie down and watch the tv or look at rubbish on my phone. I love my evenings!

Free time in the evenings?

Ha.

BlueSkiesLies · 16/05/2019 15:23

Boring stuff - cooking, chores, life admin, shower
Fun stuff - seeing friends, eating out, exercise, hobbies
Chilled stuff - reading, tv

ExpletiveDelighted · 16/05/2019 15:33

Exercise classes, committee meetings, out with friends, gardening when the evenings are light (at home and an allotment), taxiing teenage DCs about, odd jobs and admin. Rarely stay in for an entire evening but when we do its TV, crochet, board games.

Monday - Thursday I get home at 7pm sometimes later, DH and I walk the dog if it’s a nice evening (otherwise DH does it before I’m home), then I get my clothes ready for an early start the next morning. We then settle down and watch a box set in bed and I usually fall asleep by 930pm.

EmmaC78 · 16/05/2019 15:52

One evening a week I do housework, one evening I normally arrange to meet a friend after work and usually go for a walk or go for dinner and then the other three weekday evenings I either go for a run or go horseriding.

Ds 5 goes to bed at 7 then me and dh watch a box set or a film usually. Its our couple time and it's my favourite part of the working day.

REDCARBLUE · 16/05/2019 16:02

2 hour walk, run, or take kids to football training which takes up 4 nights so i tend to walk or run whilst waiting

Now that I am old and boring we eat at 6.30 and then settle down for an evening's telly. I go to a quiz once a week (go me).

When I was younger I used to do a lot of committee stuff for various hobbies/interests and ride my horse during the light evenings.

riotlady · 16/05/2019 16:10

I do bedtime with the baby around 7 while my partner cooks dinner, then we collapse on the sofa together and watch telly. Prep stuff for the next day (dishwasher, baby’s nursery bag, etc) then bed! Occasionally I go to the gym and a couple of times a month I go a friends house for a girls night.

blue25 · 16/05/2019 16:10

We often go for walk, sometimes with a drink in a beer garden if weather is nice. Exercise class once a week. Eat out once a week. Otherwise gardening, sitting in garden or watching a film.

Tensixtysix · 16/05/2019 16:12

Cooking and then falling asleep in front of TV after being on FB.

WhoKnewBeefStew · 16/05/2019 16:15

Once I’ve finished ferrying the dc about, cooking, cleaning up, making sandwiches (ok my dh does this whilst I drink wine), it’s an hour in front of the telly and nattering to my dh then bed.

3 evenings a week I'm at work.
My first evening off I'm good for nothing and in bed early.
Other days I have to "myself" so get everything done in the day and spend the evenings watching TV or messing about on the internet. Sometimes, I even go out with my friends to the pub or occasionally cinema with DM.
