Wireless (?) printing without a PC - is it possible?

Does such a device exist and what is it called please?
All the printers I've looked at online seem to talk about installing drivers and Ethernet cables and usb or whatever, and take for granted you will have a PC to start off with, as well as having the wi-fi print options. I just want the latter though!

I have a phone and iPad and want to be able to print just using my home wi-fi - is there any way I can buy something that doesn't cost hundreds of pounds to do this?

I do not have a PC.

What advice can some of you knowledgeable people provide to help me please.

I am not totally non-geek and can understand the basics but am not particularly IT-savvy...

HP envy and signed up to HP instant ink. £7.99 a month and always have ink for printing!

Following with interest

If you get one without AirPrint , you might still be able to email it whatever you want printed. Mine has AirPrint but I sometimes mail it stuff too, if I'm not at home but want to get it off my to do list.

We have an HP Envy and can print from any device. We only own portable devices.

I’ve not long got an epson XP 355 it prints from iPhone iPad android phone and tablet, I think it was about £45
