Cambridge Diet- I start tomorrow!

Anyone else doing the Cambridge diet? Had my consultation today and all stocked up on shakes. It’s going to be difficult and I’m not sure I’ll stick to it but I am desperate, nothing else is working and as of today I weigh just under 16 stone!

Has anyone had any successes on it?

I've known 3 people that have done it, MIL, SIL and a friend. All piled the weight back on after. Sorry it's probably not what you want to hear. It's pretty dangerous though isn't it, something to do with the water intake.

Eating a healthy balanced diet would be better. After years of faddy quick fix diets MIL finally did this. She's kept the weight off and is far healthier for it. She got proper advice from a nutritionist, the cambridge consultants aren't actual nutritionists are they? They are just out to make money (bit like a MLM).

No it’s fine, I’ve definitely heard of people putting it all back on but then I again I did a healthy, calorie controlled diet/exercise that saw me lose weight steadily over a year and I still managed to pile it all back on and more :(

Yeah we have to drink 2 litres a day but i manage that already so not too difficult. I’m just so desperate, I’m a bridesmaid in September and I’ve put off losing weight and now it’s 4 months till the big day and I’m bigger than ever

Flowers your friend who is getting married surely just loves you and wouldn't want you doing anything to risk your health.

Have you got your dress already?

Couldn't agree more @JonesTheDow

I'm a healthy weight and I eat 3 balanced meals a day including plenty of carbs, drink water and no fizzy drinks and do loads of walking.

Good luck with your weight loss however you go about it Thanks

Yeah I have the dress, the dresses she wanted only went up to a size 14 and it’s so beautiful so I said to go for it and I’d diet. It’s not even that, it’s the way I feel
About myself. I look hideous and it’s just piling on. I know it’s a very extreme diet BUT as I say I lost 3 stone over a year eating well, no fizzy drinks, very occasional treats and I put it all back on and 3 stone o top of that. This way all choice is taken out of my hands and once I’m down to a healthier weight I’ll worry about the maintence then.

Thanks everyone Flowers

Just please be careful with it, and make a promise to yourself that in September after the wedding you are going to embark on a healthy diet for you

Good luck

@JonesTheDow that is 100% the plan. They get married on 13th September (Friday the 13th!!) and after that I am back to 5:2 which worked amazingly well the first time.
