I've just dropped dd2 off to go on a trip with her Brownie unit. She won't be back until tea time so I'm going to carry on decorating my bedroom, do some cleaning, and a few bits for my Rainbows and Guides.

Dd1 is off for a sleepover at Nanna's later so it'll be a chilled evening with dd2, who will hopefully have an early night.

We'll have southern fried chicken for tea, and probably ice cream for pudding.

What about you lot?

I'm currently still sat on the sofa in my pjs.
Dc4&2 are playing.
Dc17 has gone with her grandparents for the day.
Dc14 is getting dressed.
Ds16 is still in bed.
Dh is a the gym.

I need to get the two little ones dressed (and myself) then dh should be home. Once he has showered we will be leaving to go do the food shopping 😩

Trip to b&q also for paint and wallpaper for the living room. It is in desperate need of a spruce up!

Mil is taking the two little ones out for a few hours at 3pm. Dh is going out to see his friends for a few hours and my best friend is popping over for a takeaway and a couple of drinks this evening once the little ones are in bed.

I love these threads. Everyone pottering about.

DH was overnight at work last night and is working all day today as well. He came home for breakfast though so we had a lovely one with the DCs. Then an hour of homework and music practice, an hour of tidying the house with the reward of a McDonalds (and a meal under 400 cals for me without having to think too hard about it) and then taking the DCs to see Detective Pikachu which looks like a child friendly version of Deadpool. Tonight we have a surprise birthday party, really looking forward to it!

CatManIsInHisDressingGownAgain · 11/05/2019 12:18

Lie in.
Walk down the seafront.
Lunch was fried egg and hash brown buns.
Just about to attempt our meal plan for next week and ignore the lemon drizzle cookies that are currently shouting me from the kitchen.
Tea will be seafood pasta and garlic bread followed by wine and the last 3 episodes of Haunting of Hill House Wine

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 11/05/2019 12:42

Nice one, Princess! I ran the long way round to the gym, so 3km, and then did half an hour of weights and a bit of core and walked home (the short way). My new boden shorts arrived in my absence so after a shower I tried them and they actually fit! Sun's shining so I put on non-winter clothes for the first time in I don't know how long. Heading out to collect dd now and we'll go for lunch and bike shopping.

Misty9 · 11/05/2019 13:18

Thanks princess - I actually made a Cake yesterday for my housewarming and there will be plenty of Wine later Smile it's amicable but still bloody hard. Good to hear it gets easier/better Flowers

I made it to the sofa after having scrambled eggs and bacon, and just finished an admin marathon - there's so much to do after moving house! No sun here sadly.

Shockers · 11/05/2019 13:23

I’m trying to clean, but I feel really dodgy. I have a charity ball to go to tonight and a fun run tomorrow, but a combination of nausea and joint pain is making just going back to bed really tempting.

DD is at respite, DH is working and DS has borrowed my car and gone to see a friend. I might set the alarm for an hour and see whether that helps.

lucysmam · 11/05/2019 13:29

Sounds like lots of fairly relaxing weekends going on.

Shockers, I hope you feel brighter for going out later Thanks

The pp who asked about the southern fried chicken recipe -I've been lazy and ordered a box on my Tesco shop. That way I know dd2 will happily eat it without me putting something together she might just pick apart and not actually eat.

I've been quite productive. 2nd wall is drying, I've put a coat of chalk paint on my headboard, washed and dried my curtains, hung a load of washing out and put another on, and done some of my Rainbows and Guides stuff. And, it's still fairly early in the day!

Just finishing my coffee, then I'll put a second coat on the headboard.

So far: DD has had her swimming lesson, DH and I have done a few odd jobs, DS has pottered about getting in the way. We’re all off to the shops shortly to buy a few bits for our holiday at half term.

Hopefully after that the DC will amuse themselves while DH and I do a few more jobs in a lazy half assed weekend manner.

BiBabbles · 11/05/2019 14:19

My older two are at Cadet duties, and the rest of us have the sniffles so I'm unfocused and we're all distracting ourselves from that in various ways. Last week was chaos so I'm enjoying the quiet for a moment as much as I can while my head feels so awful

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 11/05/2019 14:38

Done some bits and pieces of housework and shopping.

Having a rest now and going to do a ten mile moonlit walk for charity tonight. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

cliffdiver · 11/05/2019 14:43

On the sofa suffering with a kidney infection.

DDs watching The BFG and playing with our new kitten.

DH is at work, I'm looking forward to him coming home so I can go to bed.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 11/05/2019 15:18

We haven't done much today, kids are out with my mum, husband snoring on sofa. I'm disappointed that the Bond film is not (as advertised) 'A View To A Kill', but is the very silly 'Octopussy'.

So, I've taken out four trays of blueberries from the fridge, picked out one or two that were mouldy (at least I checked) and have thrown them into a cake batter to make muffins.

Then I'm going to attack the bathroom, clothes every-bloody-where. I can ignore it no longer.

Hope everyone's having a nice weekend so far and that those suffering illness are feeling better asap.

Xiaoxiong · 11/05/2019 15:49

Hope everyone's having a lovely day!

@Misty9 we're moving house this summer - haven't moved for 7 years and I'm not looking forward to the admin!!! Any advice?

Misty9 · 11/05/2019 15:53

Xiaoxiong I've found it really helpful to make lists on my phone of which organisations I need to change my address with. I note them down as I think of them/receive post, then tick them off when done. Having to send off v5 logbook and an actual physical D1 form for my driving licence have been surprises in this digital age! Shock other than that, lists lists lists!

woodcutbirds · 11/05/2019 15:56

spent this morning help a friend run a charity craft stall. Then went to work for an hour. Been mooching this afternoon - watched last episode of Chimerica, done a washload, on MN. Just about to put on boots and go for a muddy walk with DS2.

LesLavandes · 11/05/2019 16:04

I'm preparing for a trip to Budapest on Monday. Sensible shoes bought this morning, and just finished at beauticians. 😊

wendz86 · 11/05/2019 16:14

We’ve had quite a busy day so far . Dd1 had swimming lesson and then dropped her at dancing . Took dd2 to a party . Picked up dd1 and had lunch . Then this afternoon dropped dd1 at my friends for her sons birthday .
Watching frozen with dd2 at the moment and we are going to have Bolognese for dinner . Then going for a glass of wine at friends when I pick up dd1.

littlemeitslyn · 12/05/2019 18:17

Correcting grammar

AdoraBell · 12/05/2019 19:42

Slightly more motivation today, 3 loads of washing done. Been out for lunch. One child has ordered Dominoes for herself, the other one needs feeding. Exams start tomorrow.

AdoraBell · 12/05/2019 19:43

Envy at your trip Les hope you have a good time.

Otterses · 12/05/2019 19:48

DS has been with my parents all week while we move, and came back lunch time today. I spent all morning faffing around making sure his new room was 'perfect' and staring out the window with DH waiting for him to arrive Grin

Then spent the day running around the garden, had a BBQ, now trying to calm down overexcited DS so he can go to bed. Both of us need a relatively good sleep - off to a castle tomorrow which I'm pathetically excited about.

I've got a few weeks off work and I'm so excited to hopefully have a lot of days like this with him Smile
