I'm a bit out of touch and didn't realise this was a thing until visiting my neice and her newborn in hospital yesterday.

In one way it's really lovely to receive a goody bag and have a chat with someone hew about your baby and get that all important photo but I'm not sure really it's not just one of those opportunist things... how are they even allowed onto the ward?

Are you new to mumsnet? It's been a campaign of theirs for ages.

Yeah, it’s terrible. Just what you need when you’re sleep deprived, probably in pain and swirling with all sorts of drugs and hormones while trying to come to terms with how to feed and care for a new sprog.

Never understood the hate. I just said thank you for any literature etc but I didn’t want to be disturbed and off they went.

Intrusive, overpriced data sellers arrives to harass vulnerable new mothers.
I cannot bear the vultures.

I loved my Bounty photos, they were beautiful. Not intrusive, I just got asked if I would like a picture, I said yes but others said no and there was no hard sell. Never bothered me at all.

FiremanKing · 05/05/2019 10:31

A simple thanks but no thanks sent them on their way both times at different hospitals worked for me.

FlibbertyGiblets · 05/05/2019 10:37

awful awful company. Basically they use the captive audience (new mums in hospital) to harvest their details and sell on. And Bounty staff dress similarly to actual hospital staff and are disingenuous about identifying themselves as not NHS. Lots more but you get the gist.

Zduse · 05/05/2019 11:19

It's awful, sales people shouldn't be allowed on NHS wards, it's unethical. I think they should be banned.

I love my bounty photo, she changed so much between then and her newborn shoot!! I personally have an email address I use only for those sort of things, receipts in the shops, Mumsnet account etc then I have my personal email for important things. When it starts to build up with all the different company's emailing I delete it and create a new one! Best way for these sort of things 😁
