Has anyone else never burped?!

Has anyone else never burped?!
I guess it seems odd when I think about it but have only ever "burped" at the start of throwing up.. never just as a normal routine daily thing (not even a silent one).

Is that weird/normal? Any health implications?

I used to be like you OP, until I fell pregnant. I’ve never been the same since, can burp for England now!

No burping here. I have done it once or twice involuntary but rare and far between.
I don’t fart either. I did one public ally in school assembly 40 years ago but I guess that gave me self control.
I have done the odd fanny fart but lost weight and did my exercises so that’s resolved too.

I've never been able to burp - nobody in my family can. It never caused me any problems until I was pregnant, gassy, and in desperate need of a massive belch. I was like one of those sheep who eat the wrong plant, blow up like a balloon, and have to be pierced with a needle to stop them exploding.

I occasionally spontaneously burp after a fizzy drink but I am unable to make myself burp. I rarely have gut problems but do fart a lot

Me too and people have tried to teach me, but only ended up making me sick. Apparently even as a baby I didn't, but my aunt was convinced my mum just wasn't burping me properly it's ok to teach her a lesson I threw up all down her back

Slightly different, but my dad claims he's never vomited in his life (apart from possibly as a baby, obviously). He gets nauseous, but can't do anything about it.

Initially I was a bit jealous of him, but actually it's really horrible to not be able to be sick when you need to be.

QueenOfPain There’s nothing more satisfying than rolling over in bed onto my tummy to settle down to sleep and just having a big satisfying burp, and then snuggling my face into the pillow and nodding straight off.

I don’t know why but this really made me laugh. It’s the kind of thing my dog does, you’re just missing the ear scratching with your hind leg 🤣

Omg me!!!! DH can burp on demand but I have never, ever burped unless I was about to throw up.

I only do silent and occasional burps, I don't fart much either, I'm obviously not a very windy person. DP more than makes up for me though

I couldn't until I had kids - it seems s common theme!

I love burping now having been denied the pleasure for so long. My kids rarely burp. It is a momentous occasion when one does!
