I like Tom Hardy because he's not perfect looking, like maybe Jude Law, he's rugged, says it how it is, I'd imagine that he can handle himself and I highly suspect he has a cracking sense of humour. I like my men rough around the edges, stubbly, broad, and someone I can feel safe with.

Finn Wolfhard is young enough to be my son! Never in a million years would he cross my mind as eye candy!

I think Tom Hardy is okay looking, the good looking mechanic in your local garage, but I really don't understand the spell he casts over so many women.

I don't really watch films very often or watch all that much TV, I don't have much concentration for it. So I used to hear people talk about Tom Hardy and see photos of him and think 'what is the huge fuss?'. Then I watched a film with him in it and suddenly I got it. He was just unbelievably mesmerising. And suddenly he was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen!

That’s exactly what I thought, my (adult) daughter swooned and I just couldn’t see it at all. Then I watched Dunkirk. Only saw his eyes and heard his voice through the whole film and was completely in love with him by the end of it. What an actor.

Similar thing with Helen McCrory. Trying not to sound horrid: there’s another thread going about actors etc. who haven’t fared particularly well aging wise and it’s probably fair to say she fell into that category. Great actress, always liked her work. Heard she was married to Damian Lewis (not my cup of tea but younger than her and lots of people’s crush and was everywhere at the time, she wasn’t). Hmm, interesting match, I thought. Then I heard her interviewed on radio. What a fantastic woman. Intelligent, funny, kind, incredibly accomplished professionally, self deprecating: I’m not hugely sociable but thought what I wouldn’t give to have a friend like that. Ended up thinking Damian Lewis is one helluva lucky man. She’s been my girl crush ever since
