Did you get a nice tan over Easter?

Nice to look in the mirror and see a bit of colour on my skin after a long winter. Was careful not to burn. So are we all looking sun kissed or lobster like? Grin

No. I was a total lazy lump and watched lots of shite tv whilst mumsnetting and lounging on the sofa. I was in and out of the garden though, and appreciated the sunshine.
The cat must have a tan under his fur, he has been out from dawn until dusk!Grin

Hollowvictory · 23/04/2019 18:38

I'm not sure 3 days of it being over 23 degrees could produce a nice tan.

Kaykay06 · 23/04/2019 18:38

I worked all weekend but don’t really sit in the sun, few evening dog walks but white as white still
Boring but hoping it’s not the only sun we will get this year

ohtheholidays · 23/04/2019 18:44

Yes I have,we were away for a week in Cornwall and I managed to get a nice tan because we were out every day.

Hollowvictory · 23/04/2019 18:45

How strange. I too was in Cornwall and at the start of the weeks it was stormy, rainy, windy. Broke 2 umbrellas in one day or was so windy! Weather did improve from good Friday onwards.

Youwanapizzame · 23/04/2019 18:50

@Hollowvictory. Aaaahhhh well you'd be wrong. I can get a tan crossing a car park. I am as brown as a berry!

AdoraBell · 23/04/2019 18:53

Nope, I had to cover up to avoid burning.

umberellaonesie · 23/04/2019 18:54

Yes, I sat out today to and had a wee afternoon snooze.

YesQueen · 23/04/2019 18:55

Definitely not! I don't tan so porcelain it is Grin
I wear factor 50 on my face year round

FudgeBrownie2019 · 23/04/2019 19:05

I tan really easily despite F30 suncream. DS8 has a lovely golden glow, too, while DH and the teenager are paler than pale because they never catch the sun.

PottyPotterer · 23/04/2019 19:08

Yes, a nice golden glow yes I know it's skin damage. Wore sunscreen but was out cycling a lot. Ds has a face full of cute freckles but he's always outside.

ticketsonsalenow · 23/04/2019 19:10

Didn't spend all that much time purposely outside, but I have a surprise white stripe on my left forearm all the same. Only noticed it this morning when I went to put my watch on.

BentNeckLady · 23/04/2019 19:15

I go brown looking out the window so I’ve got a cracking tan. The kids have been away all weekend doing an outdoor activity and they’re both brown as berries. Ds has burned his elbow creases a bit where he’s forgotten the sunscreen.

TheClaifeCrier · 23/04/2019 19:17

No. I burn and then go pale again, but my freckles have made an appearance.

ivykaty44 · 23/04/2019 19:20

Cycling produces a great tan

teyem · 23/04/2019 19:21

I don't do tans. I stay stubbornly white regardless of season. When the polar ice caps melt I will offer my services to deflects the sun's rays single handed, you're welcome.

sparkli · 23/04/2019 19:29

Yes, and I feel so much better for it. DH and DC are all pale skinned and don't take a tan, and I look like I've been in the Caribbean for a fortnight compared to them!

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 23/04/2019 19:32

Nope. I don't tan, ever.

I used fake tan but I have uneven skin so that looked shit too.

Oh, and I got a burn the size of a 50p on the top of my foot so that's annoying.

PickAChew · 23/04/2019 19:39

No. I don't tan and don't try.

Se7ven11 · 23/04/2019 20:36

I ran really easily so, yes, I've got a nice base tan going now.

DP on the other hand is very fair skinned (of Scottish decent) so has to very careful in the sun as burns far too easily.

NoWordForFluffy · 23/04/2019 20:53

Yep, I also tan easily; it only takes a couple of hours in nice weather to make me go brown. Gotta love soaking up that vitamin D!

YesQueen · 23/04/2019 21:09

Thankfully I'm a redhead so no vitamin D worries or I would really be screwed Grin I burn within minutes

fussychica · 23/04/2019 22:30

A bit of a glow but not a tan. Only managed a couple of days outside for various reasons and took it easy as it was the first sun of the year. Now in Portugal and the weather forecast is rain for tomorrowSad so no chance until later in the week when the forecast looks much better.

I love the sun and until recently spent a lot of time in Spain so I'm used to having a reasonable tan virtually year round. Looking too pale at the moment.

justasking111 · 24/04/2019 13:39

Well looking at the forecast that glow is going to have to last for a bit. It was lovely to feel the sun on us. We live in a tourist area, they and their families had a ball this past week. Look forward to seeing them again in two weeks.

It did for me and my partner. My teens are as white as ever though.
