Do any of your children attend Chertsey High School? As it's a new school I cant find much information on it and was just trying to find out whether you as 'parents' are happy with your childs education.

I would like to know some info about Chertsey High also. Having sleepless nights over which school to send my twins to.

A friend has a daughter in Y7 and she is really happy with the school. I decided against putting it as one of our choices as I was worried that it would be too pressured for my daughter, but if your child would thrive in a highly academic environment then I think it looks like a good school.

Thank you!.. I have since accepted the offer of a place and love the school!

MrsBJr.. I feel your pain, but I have since been to meet the headteacher and she is so passionate about the children's education and well-being and being a parent herself, she understands our perspective.
The school is basically a mirror image of Salesians (but not Catholic). Many of the tutors from Salesians teach at CHS and unlike normal academies, they follow the national curriculum. My daughter loves the school already and is very much looking forward to starting in Sept.

Oh that is so good to know, thank you for that. I do think it is the one we will go for, hopefully it will be more or less built by the time September comes around and the open evenings start. I had heard that due to funding, subjects like cookery and DT wouldn't be taught straight away. Is there any truth in that or just Chinese whispers?

Belinha74 · 08/05/2019 11:24

ATM as there is limited space in the old building they are unable to provide, however I have been told that in Sept, Cookery and DT will be on offer to all.
