Panic attack vs heart?

How do you know if its its your heart?

Ive a whirring sensation that comes and goes, but the pain is not stabby, and more central. Dh said it sounds fast, and he was struggling to hear individual beats, but its calmed down with an extra bp tablet. (Metaprolol, but usual dose of lisinopril) Its kind of occasionally fluttery. My jaw/ left arm feels painfully numb rather than anything else. But I dont feel well. Tired and breathless, and a bit sweaty.

Ive had a very stressful few days. Im too tired for hospital, and seriously dont want to be told its a panic attack. My blood pressure has been under control recently with new meds.

Jesus Christ just head for A&E, call a taxi, just don’t think.

KnifeAngel · 03/04/2019 16:53

Please go OP. They won't tell you off if it's a mistake.

Sorry for worrying people, I feel better for a rest. Just panicked. Thank you.

So you haven’t got it checked out? I am now quite worried, OP!

Foodismedicine · 03/04/2019 19:56

Just a silly panic attack. I'll book in with my php as an emergency. Im really sorry for worrying people. Absolutely fine.

Well - I think you are being very silly not getting this properly checked out. And I speak as someone who’s DH was in A&E recently having heart?/panic attack? symptoms checked out. It wasn’t a panic attack.

ReleaseTheBats · 03/04/2019 20:13

II'm going to stop opening threads where people ask if chest pain/chest symptoms might be heart related and whether they should seek medical help.

Why ask if you are going to ignore the answers, often from people with personal experience?

Japonicaflower2 · 03/04/2019 20:26

FGS get it checked out asap OP.
I thought I just had a bit of a chest infection, i was short of breath and fell tired. It was Left Bundle Branch Block caused by viral Myocarditis and I now have heart failure and severe damage to my heart. The only saving grace was that I was fairly fit so didn't drop dead from adult sudden death ☹️
Please don't wait for something else to happen.

Same as @release.

thesnapandfartisinfallible · 03/04/2019 20:53

Fgs OP you have almost every symptom of a heart attack and I've never had a panic attack quite like that and I have those a lot. You need to get checked out. Would you rather feel a bit embarrassed and sheepish for an hour or so or would you rather die in your sleep? You're being ridiculous.

FrumpyKnickers · 03/04/2019 21:22

I would definitely get checked dh had chest pain tingling arm and very hot face at work it passed so he thought grand 3 days later he got me to book appointment with doc for indigestion was sent straight to hospital 3 days on and 4 stents later sent home hé is currently on sick leave only 45.

KnifeAngel · 03/04/2019 22:18

Get checked out for your own sake. My DH has similar symptoms and was having a heart attack. He had a stent fitted and is on the mend.
