I have an almost 7 year old and an 8 year old. They have completely different dress taste!

I buy a fair bit from H&M for both of them. Lots of Scandi brands for the younger one who loves bright colours and animals and adores wearing onesies.
The 8 year old prefers what he calls 'cool clothes' he has a couple of lacoste t-shirts and football tops that he loves, I buy him a few bits from River Island and M&M direct.

Trainers, they currently have Clarke's avengers ones I bought in the sale to wear to the park etc youngest has a pair of converse and 8 year old has Adidas gazelles.

The same as he wears now - jeans, t-shirts and hoodies (occasionally even the school hoodie).

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 02/04/2019 18:46

Mine is a bit older than that now but at that age it was jeans, T-shirts, zip-up hoodies from H&M, Matalan, supermarkets etc. Nothing extravagant or expensive.

Footwear tended to trainers either direct from Adidas or sports shops

HoHoHolyCow · 02/04/2019 18:49

Joggers, jeans, Pokemon/Minecraft t shirt and a hoody.

Trainers or hi tops from Sports Direct or Geox.

Two boys 9 and 6. Both prefer comfort over style!!

Loobieloo27 · 02/04/2019 20:01

My ds is 7 and hates wearing jeans. He loves his joggers, football tops and trainers from sports shop.

LittleMachine · 02/04/2019 20:08

Mine are 7 and 5 and will only wear football kits, they add a base layer in the winter.
I get all their trainers from Sports Direct, usually Nike for about £25, or Adidas football trainers.

I like boy’s clothes from Next and H&M but I’ve given up buying them, I’m wasting my money!

Mightywease · 02/04/2019 20:09

My nearly 7 year old generally wears Star Wars/Batman/Avengers/Super Mario t shirts plus jeans or joggers.

He has a few hoodies, a few shirts and a couple of smart trousers. Oh and costumes/onesies.

Mainly from charity shops, Sainsburys and H&M

polarpig · 02/04/2019 20:11

Canterbury, Nike and under armour for sports and jeans or shirts from wherever.

ApollO88 · 02/04/2019 20:12

My just 8 year old is very much like his dad in style. Mainly T-shirt's, jeans, hoodies. The T-shirt's are all pokemon, mine craft, batman, graphic T-shirt's.
I buy a mix of primark, h+m, supermarkets.
He's just started taking a liking to a fancy polo shirt.

Angelinthenightx · 02/04/2019 21:01

My 5&7year old wear the north face, adidas, nike, under armer sport clothes also next skinny joggers & jeans for parties etc and lyle and scott long sleeve tops.

WatchingTheWheels85 · 02/04/2019 21:07

My 6yr old I buy from fat face, pepe jeans, joules, levis, converse, kings will dream, ted baker and monsoon. He is a huge wwe fan so lots of t-shirts of wrestlers.

Handofglory · 02/04/2019 21:09

My ds (7) loves slim fitting clothes. He loves his skinny jeans (gap and Sainsbury’s). Long sleeved t shirts (Sainsbury’s) or polo shirts (next)

Also sports clothes but these also have to be tight (decathlon, sports direct).

He takes a lot of care over his look Grin but luckily isn’t aware of brands (yet)

Lucked · 02/04/2019 21:11

I think it is a tricky age as a lot of shops bracket them with younger teens so you get a lot of skulls and graffiti styles which my DS wouldn’t like. Also lots of grey and black when he likes brighter clothes.

DS wears trousers from H&M as he is tall and skinny and lots of different colours available there. He has some Lego Ninjago tops also from H&M. Otherwise he wears long and short sleeve polo shirts mostly from Next and I pick up other tops as I see them that are age appropriate and designs and colours he would like.

He always wears a shirt to parties unless it is sports based again I mostly get them from H&M

Handofglory · 02/04/2019 21:11

Trainers-decathlon. He likes football style ones
He doesn’t really have any other shoes except school ones (startrite) which do for smart occasions

Lucked · 02/04/2019 21:13

And he is currently wearing Skechers but most of his trainers have been Geox

Drogosnextwife · 02/04/2019 21:13

Mine are 5 and 10
JD, H&M, next (not as much now as the 10 yo has went off it a bit) Primark for t-shirts and shorts in summer and JD, sports direct, foot asylum and footlocker (which sometimes have great deals) for shoes depending on what we are looking for.

They tend to wear mostly black at the moment (apparently the fashion, suits me as everything matches) skinny jeans and hoodies or joggers and hoodies.

SurgeHopper · 02/04/2019 21:14

DS is 5 and only wears short sleeve is shirts as he hates long sleeves ruffled up under his coat. He's in joggers all the time but that will change when he starts school. He'll be in chinos then (hopefully)

Chilledout11 · 02/04/2019 21:16

Mine have a smart shirt each. Few cosy jumpers/ knitwear . They have decent tracksuit each ask rest are hoodies and skinny jeans / t shirts

(Tend to but good shirt / jumper each and rest from Tesco and asda. Bright colours.

roses2 · 02/04/2019 21:18

Mine are 3 and 6. They wear Ralph Lauren, Hackett, Timberland and Nike. A mix of smart and casual. All bought from eBay for less than Primark new prices!

PippilottaLongstocking · 02/04/2019 21:19

H&M for basics

IncyWincyGrownUp · 02/04/2019 21:29

11 year old: anything that’s clean, preference for geeky and gag teeshirts. Loves his big parka jacket in winter, happily wears his sister’s flannel shirt and hoodie cast-offs at other times.

7 year old: anything that’s clean and soft. Will not wear jeans or structured clothing of any kind. Loves a good hoodie. Winter coat has to be one of the H&M puffy ones, the brighter the better.

Tend to stick to H&M for both of them, with some odds and ends thrown in from Tesco too. Undies and nightwear comes from Primark as I’m pretty certain they either eat it or throw it away at the end of the day.

The 11 year old’s school shirts are from amazon, as they’re the only place I can find long sleeved polo shirts that have a button placket.

They both wear trainers and converse, though the younger has elastic laces as his fine motor skills aren’t quite there.

nutsfornutella · 02/04/2019 21:38

At 7 it was supermarkets and H&M. Joggers plus T-shirt sometimes footie shirt and jeans sort of outfits.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 02/04/2019 21:42

My 7 year old likes skinny-ish jeans, logo t-shirts (quite partial to Spider-Man or similar) and a hoody. He has Black Panther trainers from Clarks.

I also like H&M for basics. All of my boys like skinny jeans but I literally can't get them to fit.

Mine is also quite little, he can still fit his age 5 jeans.
