What is he doing he’s gone totally quiet.

Wonder what he thinks about the current political shit show?

In a pub in Witney no doubt.

Waiting to see how catastrophically the country’s self implosion is- so he can finish his memoirs I believe

TheSheepofWallSt · 19/03/2019 18:29

Self-immolation**

I saw him on TV last week I think?

he says he backs May, but doesn't want to say anything because no one wants their predecessor making comments, or some such. I think he also said he is against No Deal.

EnlightenmentwasaPassingPhase · 19/03/2019 18:38

@longwayoff - I disagree. He knows that this is his legacy as a Prime Minister. This is what he will be remembered with scorn for. History will judge him badly. He could have got a knighthood or a seat in the House of Lords once he'd had enough of being a PM. Now he's seen as a loser. A rich loser, but a loser nonetheless.

JuneFromBethesda · 19/03/2019 18:38

He has to look at himself in the mirror every day and realise what he threw away - for himself and his country.

Enlightenment, that won't be a problem for him, he shares the Teflon hide of all politicians and the essential commonly held belief "That. was not my fault".

That's probably true - that he doesn't think it was his fault - but at the same time he must know that a vast percentage of the population hold him responsible, and he must hate that. I suspect Prime Ministers care very much about their political legacy, and the Brexit fuck-up is his, that's what he'll be remembered for.

(No sympathy here btw)

JuneFromBethesda · 19/03/2019 18:39

Cross post with Enlightenment saying almost exactly the same thing Grin

tobee · 19/03/2019 18:45

I don't think he's that bothered weirdly. About how he'll be remembered. Adam Boulton described him as a man who likes taking a punt. He's probably "some you win. Some you lose"

That indulgent shepherd's hut 'toy' is a better standard of accommodation than many enjoy Hmm

Bezalelle · 19/03/2019 18:52

A pig farm somewhere.

ForalltheSaints · 19/03/2019 18:57

I don't think it is wrong for him to keep quiet, as indeed John Major did for many years, and Gordon Brown has done largely, as a bitter former PM such as Ted Heath or Margaret Thatcher is not a nice thing. However, he should still be blamed for the mess that has been created.

brizzlemint · 19/03/2019 19:00

He's trying to live a quiet life but all is not well at Casa Cameron. He'll be on Jeremy Kyle next month.

PicsInRed · 19/03/2019 19:31

He could have kept some honour by sticking around to see the country through Brexit (like he fucking promised), but instead the table got cold so he cashed in his chips and scarpered for the exits (with George stumbling headlong behind).

History's verdict: Hmm
