Can I work and be off on maternity leave simultaneously?

Hi! Random musing. I work for the NHS. If I wanted to go back to work early (I work 4 days) could I go back 2 days per week and be paid for those days, and then still claim 50% maternity pay for the other two days? I'm wondering if this is a viable way of spreading out my mat leave allocation, if that makes sense....
Any advice appreciated!

No you can only work a certain number of days while claiming maternity pay, I could do up to 10 KIT days which was paid for.

Your only option if you want to do that is to use accrued annual leave.

No. Once you go back, you're back. You could take holiday you've accrued for two days a week?
Or you can take up to 10 KIT days (they're reduced according to hours of your part time).

As far as I know, no you can't.

No, other than KIT days, if you return to work your maternity leave is over. It doesn’t make any difference returning on fewer hours.

I'm sure some places have their own policies with different rules but I'm pretty sure for statutory maternity pay and the standard employers say working while getting any maternity pay has to be KIT days.

No. You can use 10 KIT days any further and you surrender your remaining maternity leave .

Thanks everyone!
