Gloucester information please

I'm considering a move to Gloucester, I have a job interview to move with my company next Friday.

Was hoping for some honest advice on the areas for when looking for a house to rent for now.

Is there any areas we should absolutely avoid, and wouldn't want to live.

I've found a houses I like in Innsworth?

Will need childcare nearish by, for a one year old, I'd be working in GL1 area.

Avoid the centre after dark. Lived for a bit in the centre (no choice, unfortunately) and it is a shithole. Lots of problems with drugs,antisocial behaviour and homelessness.

OP I get my eyebrows and LVL done at a salon called Dollface in Westgate Street, Gloucester, they are fab. There are some great hairdressers as well.

Does anyone know much about Newent? We've had a walk around and got a nice feel, and we love the house we're looking at.

Worries are the local primary is in RI however that could easily change in the next three years before my son would go, and we're looking to buy before so could move if schools still poor.

Also both tearooms looked a touch run down which was disappointing, but we didn't go in so can't really say. Are we wrong?

Also does anyone live in Newent?

Where is the nearest proper supermarket and what is it?

What's the GP like and is it nearby?
