So what do swimming club parents do about verrucas?!

DS aged 8 finally got his first verruca (I have been waiting for him to get one to do the duct tape method) unfortunately it coincided with him starting competitive swimming! He trains 4 times a week there is no way duct tape would withstand that! He can't stand me touching it even after it has been soaking for ages so filing down is not going well. I have resorted to clear nail varnish to cover it when he swims as waterproof plasters do not last against the amount of fins on/off in a session and he can't swim properly in a verruca sock! Help.

She don’t think you do anything. Our pool did away with rubber socks a long time ago

Double check with the pool he swims at.

Verruca lotion is enough, you don't need to use a sock or anything like that.

bazooka verucca . no sock required (the freeze/ max strength one!)

Cuplex gel was the best stuff ever- lactic acid. It’s been out of stock everywhere for ages. I have read on here that doing footner gets rid of it. I’m planning on doing that with DS a week before school hols so he has the peeling then. Keeping everything crossed it works!!!

Can't recommend scholl Verucca plasters enough. The actual gel in even Bazuka double strength in a tube is half the strength and a faff, but the plasters are really quick to use and double strength. No need to file the wart daily etc, much more user friendly.

I bought mine in Amazon but the local chemist had some in stock too.

Apple Cider Vinegar, dip a cotton bud in it and hold it against the verucca for 10-15 mins a night (keep topping the vinegar up on the cotton bud). Painless and my sons was gone in just over a week.

Buy some cheap black/purple nail varnish. Paint a thick layer on, then paint another layer on top each night, did this for DD after trying all the expensive treatments and getting nowhere. Within a week the verruca fell off.
