Could this be DD's appendix playing up?

DD 3, started complaining about a stomach ache 3 days ago. She points to her belly button if I ask her where it is. I took her to the GP after nursery said she seemed in quite a bit of pain on thursday.

GP felt it was just a stomach ache as she wasn't tender over the appendix at all.

Yesterday afternoon she started vomiting and complaining her stomach was hurting again. Suddenly yelping and holding her stomach. She's stopped being sick now but has very loose bowels.

She's lying next to me now whimpering in her sleep and saying ow ow my tummy hurts.

Could it just be a stomach bug? She's still pointing to her belly button and the pain doesn't seem to have moved at all. She has a slight temp.

She didn’t wake up when I put her in the car or took her in.

That would be an A&E job for me.

I do hope your DD is alright Thanks

Still waiting. She’s asleep on the chairs. Receptionist said she will message the doctor to push her up the list. A&E is next door so not a trek if we have to go

I’ll keep you all updated

Poor wee thing, I hope you get seen asap

My friends DS had awful pain, he was this age. Turned out to be a gall bladder infection which is rare in this age group. He wound up at Alderhey. You know your child so trust your instincts.

georgedawes · 03/03/2019 14:55

Have they tested her urine? When DD had this it was a urine infection.

Octofraughts · 03/03/2019 16:43

Hi all, she was sent to the children’s ward, horribly dehydrated, blood sugar and salts really low, they don’t think appendix but she’s being treated for the dehydration etc

Thank you all for your support Flowers

FloatingthroughSpace · 03/03/2019 20:04

Aww bless her. They can go downhill quickly at that age. So glad you took her in.

Girlinstripedpyjamas · 03/03/2019 20:09

So glad she has been seen poor thing BrewCake for you

Sulliess · 03/03/2019 20:24

Just a really horrible tummy bug I think and the more drowsy she got the more she stopped drinking and the more she vomited what she was drinking!

So much love for the NHS though!
