Mine:

Downtown Train by Tom Waits
These Days by Jackson Browne ( he wrote this when he was 17, ffs!)
How Come U Don’t Call Me Anymore by Prince (nuff said)

Which songs knock you sideways?

jaimebravo · 01/03/2019 22:35

Yet another Divine Comedy one... Tonight we fly.

CoperCabana · 01/03/2019 22:35

HowlsMovingBungalow · 01/03/2019 22:40

Their lyrics are genius!

lottielady · 01/03/2019 22:45

Louise by The Human League
Young Love by The Mystery Jets
Pelican by The Maccabees (life in a nutshell)
Wichita Lineman by Glenn Campbell (so touching, yet based around work - so different)

Wow. This is it how it feels is a shout. Takes me to another place.

And Weather with You knocks me sideways.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 01/03/2019 22:46

I'm going for The River by Bruce Springsteen, a life story told in minutes, and....Rap God by Eminem. Don't discount him because he's a rapper. The man is a lyrical master, just like Bruce.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 01/03/2019 22:53

Joan Armatrading - Love and Effection

UpToonGirl · 01/03/2019 22:54

Street spirit, Radiohead (or most of their songs!)

HowlsMovingBungalow · 01/03/2019 22:54

Kate Bush - Army Dreamers

VivaDixie · 01/03/2019 22:55

I heard Fancy by Bobbie Gentry for the first time a few days ago and googled the lyrics. Amazing, and yet still so relevant now.

FEAR (Ian Brown) is an awful throwback to the Stone Roses. Am I missing something? Hmm

CoperCabana · 01/03/2019 22:56

On that note, I have added Stan by Eminem. Going to bed now. Feel free to add songs.

CoperCabana · 01/03/2019 22:57

To the Spotify list in my absence.

Baconislife · 01/03/2019 22:58

Prince when Doves cry
The Smiths. There is a light that never goes out
Kate Bush This woman's work

lottielady · 01/03/2019 22:58

Julie by The Levellers
May You Never by John Martyn
