When book week costumes go wrong...

For book week this year my DS asked to be 'Superworm'. He asked ages ago, and I agreed. As he had given me so much notice I had time to plan... figured a repurposed cat tunnel with a hat on could work?

It wasn't until I put the hat on the tunnel that I realised what I had created...

We had ours at the beginning of February.

Live the costume op. I bet your DC was thrilled. He looks like wicked willie.

RedHatsDoNotSuitMe · 28/02/2019 12:17

What a shame it wasn't pink!!!!!

AdaColeman · 28/02/2019 12:18

Ours is next week, it's DDs first one. Thankfully she has asked to go as Mary Poppins. My sewing/costume skills are non-existant!

diddl · 28/02/2019 15:09

That's great, Op.

At least the eyes are at the head end!!

spiderlight · 28/02/2019 15:39

Superworm is brilliant!!

Mine has floppy ginger hair, which means that World Book Day is easy - we've had five years' use (and counting) out of a cape and a Gryffindor tie as Ron Weasley Grin

Superwhaaat · 28/02/2019 15:50

Thanks everyone! I'm glad it has made people smile. Smile

Yes, the ballsy nature of the eye balls was not lost on me @diddl. I was started referring to the top bit as a 'helmet', before I even realised the relevance.

I love it!
I'm struggling to explain my sniggering to my Superworm loving young DCs though Grin

Orangecake123 · 28/02/2019 16:22

Fab work OP!

The eyes make such a difference.

pitterpatterbaby · 28/02/2019 17:20

Oh my that's brilliant 😂🤣😂🤣😂

Serin · 28/02/2019 19:33

Superwhaaat You are my hero!
Best costume ever.
You should send a picture to This Morning, I'm sure Holly and Phil would love to discuss your amazing use of that helmet and balls!!

PatchworkElmer · 28/02/2019 19:38

Hip hip Horray for superworm!! 😂😂😂

iMatter · 28/02/2019 19:41

Definitely best costume ever!

Well done OP 👏

Superwhaaat · 28/02/2019 19:56

Mine are past this now but my son never showed any inclination to dress up as anything. I'm not creative and I'm disorganised... so I sent him to school in dress up fatigues and said 'If any one asks you're Andy McNab' Hmm

ToeToToe · 28/02/2019 20:06

Omg that is amazing OP Grin

The most my boys ever got was a Harry Potter gown & glasses. DD had a Red Riding Hood cloak. All shop bought I'm afraid - we can't all be creative supermums Wink

MissionItsPossible · 28/02/2019 20:33

The B.E (Before Eyes) design was hilarious Grin The A.E design looks great!

Bluetrews25 · 28/02/2019 20:43

Funniest thing I've seen in a long time.
Teachers will have been creased trying not to laugh.
