So shocked to see that Mark Hollis has died after a short illness aged 64.

Talk Talk were part of the soundtrack of my teens, and I loved his later more experimental work. He had the saddest voice I'd ever heard.

I'm off to play Spirit of Eden and have a little cry. Sad

He and they were awesome. Life's What You Make It is part of the soundtrack to my life.

Yes Talk Talk are still one of my all time favourite groups and the wonderful Life's What You Make It has always been in my top five songs, that heartfelt slightly blurry untidy sound gets me every time. I'll be playing that on repeat today.

Nice to see a tribute from The The on Twitter and a very decent obit in the Guardian from Alex Petrides Mark Hollis

Very sad.
I really liked his music in my teens, and he seemed such a likeable man.

RIP Mr Hollis, thanks for the great songs.
