A colleague of mine on FB posted ‘kids say the most embarrassing things! At a National Trust Barbados property today and my eldest piped up with ‘why have we paid to look round here mummy? It looks just like our house in Dorset except it’s half fallen down.’ I just stood there and cringed!!!’

I was once in a waiting room with dd who had a peppa pig t-shirt on.

This woman was also there with a child a similar age and started praising dds t-shirt then turned to me and said "Oh I so wish little Timmy would like Peppa pig, honestly, he refuses to watch anything except David Attenborough documentaries, then we have to discuss them afterwards too, I long for him to just be ordinary"

He was about 2 years old and he was chewing on a chair leg like a mere mortal child too

Best/worst one I've heard:
"It's so annoying having our bathroom remodelled at the moment as DD [aged under 2] is toilet training and the only other bathroom in our house is on the 3rd floor"

Seeded, that would be annoying😂 the only houses I know with a third floor are townhouses which aren’t really the nicest so I wouldn’t see anything much in that one. I didn’t know 3 floors were anything to aspire to. Most people actively avoid 3 story properties.

1. We can afford to get our bathroom done
2. We have a big house (in their neighbourhood 3 storey houses are large Victorian houses and the most expensive around)
3. My child is toilet training much younger than most, ner ner

@seededghost surely they might just have meant the loft conversion. It’s not a posh boast most of the small houses in our area have them.....

@Icecreamcarton I dont want to be roo specific, but in the area we live in the only 3 storey houses are massive. It was definitely a boast about that.

@Imnotswallowingthat 3 stories plus an attic conversion to build a 5th bedroom with en suite at the top.

Tbh glitter knowing the woman who posted it and knowing her dc there’s a strong chance he may have actually said it. But seriously, even if it did happen, why the fuck post it on social media? You only have to have a very short conversation with the woman for her to let you know that she’s vair, vair rich. I can’t imagine she has one friend in FB who isn’t aware of this fact!

I was doing some gardening and a van pulls up and a workman got out...he said I am looking for Mrs Wright....I said sorry cant think of anyone with that name....he then started laughing and said while she was on the phone she mentioned she lived oposite the doctor with the red door and she works as a bank manager.

I started laughing and said I know who you mean....she lives opposite a nurse and is a clerk in the bank lol

Coming out of play group and there was a mother attempting to put her son in the car.
She started brushing crumbs out with her hand and said in a loud voice Jack look what you;ve done and you know daddy will be using the car for work tomorrow with the executives....she was very much a performance parent.
