I got a new job!!! A promotion, better pay and much better company to work for, more development opportunities, great team etc

We are going to London next week anyway so I am looking for some restaurant recommendations!

We don't like fancy food small portions Michelin etc

So eh we're with really tasty food, nice romantic environment and decent cocktails. And amazing puddings!!

Duck & Waffle is a good spot for an occasion meal.

I’m going with bob bob ricard... a real fav Smile

Roux at Parliament Square. I had the most amazing passion fruit soufflé there. Rest of the meal was great too!

The Brasserie at the Oxo Tower - reserve a table at the little bar for excellent cocktails first as well and book a window table . It’s our go to for small family occasions - nice atmosphere, ace views and good but not pretentious food. The Restaurant on the same floor is fancier but less atmosphere IMO

Quaglinos in Piccadilly. I never particularly love restaurants but love this one-mainly for the atmosphere!

Bob Bob Ricard is a winner if you are celebrating - it has a 'press for champagne' button at every table. Portions big and food is delicious.

Bob bob Ricard is more fun and celebratory.

Gymkhana is great if you like curry.

Hawksmoor is overrated imo.

I agree with PPs suggestions - well, of the restaurants I've been to!!

Maggie Jones's is lovely (you won't walk away hungry from there!), but I'd suggest only go in the evening, lovely romantic atmosphere then, which it doesn't seem to have so much at lunchtime.

Chez Bruce in Wandsworth Common is great (again, no hunger pangs afterwards!), but it gets booked up for the evenings way in advance, but lunchtimes should be easier to get a reservation.

Love Le Caprice and Medlar.

A couple of other ideas. Le Colombier in Chelsea www.le-colombier-restaurant.co.uk. Mon Plaisir in Covent Garden www.monplaisir.co.uk - it has a smaller, more intimate upstairs seating area - but they might only use that when they're fully booked.

The food at bob bob Ricard got slagged off recently, I think by marina o’loughlin?
Hawks moor I always associate with business lunches - tables of slightly plump middle aged men shoving down beef and braying loudly

Locanda Locatelli is superb, good-sized portions, excellent food and great service. An absolutely wonderful experience.
