Feel a bit deflated when I should be happy

I got a new job today. It's a promotion I've been working towards for months, lots of responsibility and a big pay rise, but instead of feeling happy I feel really battered and bruised by the interview.
They gave me the job but raised some concerns, mainly around areas that I haven't been able to gain experience in in my current role. They spent about 20 minutes telling me all the things I did wrong in the interview and it's left me feeling a bit deflated.
I guess I just want all of you to tell me it's okay to be crap at interviews as long as you can deliver (which they know I can which is why they gave me the job). Help me feel happy please! I should be celebrating!

Well, you clearly weren't crap at the interview as they gave you the job! Congratulations! ThanksStar Try to see the comments as constructive feedback and when you start, ask your line manager about how to handle the areas where you're less experienced (work shadowing or mentoring may help your confidence). They obviously know you can do it, but stepping up inevitably involves new challenges - well done on taking your career to the next level.

Don't be deflated!

You've got 2 choices really - brood over the criricism, or inwardly say 'ill show you' and use it as motivation to focus on those areas & become totally fabulous.

Take a deep breath, have a coffee, pull your socks up and go & make your plan to conquer the world Grin

Congratulations on the job & good luck.

You’ve got a promotion and lots of direction how to improve. They are doing you a favour!

It’s so hard to take critism/feedback but you have to try and be resilient. Try saying to yourself the positive things that they must also have been thinking (but clumsily didn’t stress to you) to give you this job

Thank you! I'm feeling a bit better today, I think I'm cringing over some of my answers in the interview but I was running it over and over in my head yesterday but not so much today. A couple of my colleagues congratulated me as well which helped.
