Not quite a meme, but this will always be one of my favourite book excerpts.

What book is it from? I don't get it.

It's from a book called Gravity's Rainbow. When you integrate 1/x with respect to x, you get log x + c. Here, the "x" is substituted with "cabin", and "c" is homophonous with "sea". Therefore, a log cabin on the sea = houseboat.

I still don't get it!
