kalefire · 06/02/2019 15:11

Just want a whinge really.

Moved into a new house, opposite a huge field and the farmer has just spread muck on it.
My house STINKS even though all windows are closed... I had to quickly run out to the car and I ended up dry heaving all over the place 🤢🤢
Honestly I've never smelt anything SOOOO BAD. I swear this isn't normal manure wahhhhh!!!

I'm venting on here because I KNOW there's nothing I can do, it's necessary, etc. But OH WOE IS ME.

Anyone want a house swap?

What ever next!

Nothing you can do about it.

BeachtheButler · 06/02/2019 18:36

We're in a small market town, a mile from open fields and, with the wind in the right direction, we can smell it when the doors and windows are open. If you're opposite it, I have no problem in believing you can smell it through closed windows.

@user1483387154

ffs posts like this piss me off. You moved to the country next to working farm land. What the fuck do you expect?
wow - great helpful post! Hmm

I live in the country and have a long time, and sometimes the smell is vomit inducing

ShesComeUndone · 24/11/2021 21:04

I grew up living in a house surrounded by fields. I used to hate the smell so much when they sprayed the fields. I always got sick at that time - my Mum said it was psychosomatic but god knows what they used to spray the fields with in the 1980s!

A zombie thread about shite Grin

CoalTit · 24/11/2021 21:09

I didn't know they used human sewage slurry in the UK! I saw a documentary on it causing deaths in the US, and being stopped in France because farmers were very unhappy with its effect on crops.

Mum2jenny · 24/11/2021 21:12

Total zombie thread, not worth discussing

JunoMcDuff · 24/11/2021 21:38

I used to quote like the smell of muck spreading Blush but I'm farming stock.

Thanks for the reports. This one is a zombie, resurrected by a spammer.
We'll lock it in a mo.
