Would you change your surname?

I don’t mean when getting married.

My dads dad was brought up with a double barrel surname that went back two generations before him. He then dropped it.

Would it be weird to go back to a name that’s not been used since the 50s? It’s a French Huguenot name so nice sounding and goes well with our actual surname

Do it! But do it for free.

You'll get people who say you have to do it through a solicitor, register it with something or other, blah blah blah. They're talking shite.

Do it if you like it, it sounds nice.

I changed mine, ooh about 25 years ago now. I was escaping an abusive partner and I didn't have any emotional attachment to the name. It's weird to think of myself called anything else now!
