Which single mattress for a 3 year old

Could anyone recommend a single mattress for a 3 year old.

Just read memory foam can be sweaty but no idea what to order!

Go to ikea and try one. Get one that's comfy for you for bedtime stories and those nights of illness/nightmares! I seem to remember children shouldn't have a soft mattress but can't for the life of me remember why.

I got the second cheapest one from John Lewis. It will probably get filthy at some point so I didn't go want to get something expensive.

I've been told that the heavier you are, the firmer the mattress you should have, so by that logic it should be a fairly soft one.
