Ways to boost mood?

Really trying to be positive and not fall into low mood - have had a hard few years. No job satisfaction and cannot get new employment. Don't see much of dh due to my work pattern. Don't have as good a relationship with parents or many friends I can fully trust and be myself with.
Generally I am well liked and happy I think. I am good to people. But a lot of the time I wish it was 40 years time and I wouldn't be here. I have two lovely children so I can't be like this. They don't know. I don't cry in front of them only when they are in bed.

I'm sorry you're feeling so low, op.

I second /third outside exercise.
Years ago I wouldn't leave the house for days at a time - now I have a little run 3 times a week.

What's your internal monologue like? Are you harsh towards yourself, or kind? (I have been horrible to myself and some of it was so second nature that I didn't even realise)

Are you able to do this anything for yourself during your work day - such as listen to podcasts or favourite music?

Oh, is there a personal shopper service nearby? Some Debenhams stores do them - they bring you items to try and you don't have to buy them! But it'll give you an idea of what styles you like now.

You need to join a gym. Exercise is the best thing to boost your mood. It's tough to start but the benefits are amazing!

I love swimming and I like bicycling furniture and stuff like that. Beginner gardener and would love to learn photography. So I could start getting more into this.

Internal monologue is very bad. I beat myself up. It's hard to get time for the bathroom at work so not much chance to listen to music but I bought a journal thing and I have heard to headspace app is good.

I am the type of person if ten people said I was wonderful and one made a slight criticism ... all I can focus on is the bad stuff.
