What do surveyors do when they come to value your house?

Just that really. Got a surveyor coming in the morning and wondered if there is anywhere else I should clean before they come. Been at it all day!

Also, will I need to follow them around and answer questions or do you just leave them to it?

Are you selling or is it for a remortgage.
We had one out recently for a remortgage. J didnt tidy too much but he did say to me he would value it as if i was selling.
He measured the rooms and tested for damp. Had a look at all the improvements we had done and then had a nosey outside. I just sat and let him get on with it. He was here for about 30 mins.

Thank you for your reply! Just in the nick of time I am considering selling! hmm, wonder if to empty the downstairs cupboard toilet, if he is going to need to measure it. Its turned into a utility room Also, I have a very shy house cat so bit concerned if he will be in and out the house. I tend to overthink things! I am sure everything will be fine. Thanks again.
