Are you a ‘Lucky Duck’? Lighthearted

Just been reading about the big lottery win. Are you a person who is pretty lucky winning on the lottery, scratch cards, ballots or bingo or like me couldn’t win an argument? Or do you know someone who is?
A lady I worked with would win maybe 3 of 25 prizes in our works ballot every time.
My ‘biggest’ win was £67 on the lottery about 20 years ago. What’s your biggest win?
I know there are many different kinds of fortune so don’t take it too seriously!

Nope. Not at all. The last thing I won was a handmade rag doll at the church fair when I was about 6. I'm 47 now... Hmm

I figure it's got to be my turn again soon!

I won a tin opener in a raffle when I was about 8. Don't ask me to predict the winning lottery numbers now will you?

This year I won a hamper at the school summer fair - and then another at the school Christmas fair! My friends were 🤔. So that’s my luck used up for the rest of my life. Would rather have won the lottery!

The most I won was £45 and I was over the moon

I wanted one of the £2 ones but I only had £1.

Bought a £1 one and won £2 so got it.

Then I kept scratching off £2 win, £10 win, £5 win (all on the same card)

Never been this lucky since and I don’t buy them often

I won 4K on the grand national once and another 1.5k on another race.

i regularly win money on football bets - i won £5000 in november. also won quite a bit on the irish lottery.

Not remotely lucky. I once matched 5 numbers on the euromillions which is basically pointless without a lucky star.

I was briefly excited until I realised my amazing prize was £30!!

It's probably the only time I've ever won anything and my husband used to win everything until he met me but hasn't since. I'm officially bad luck!

However we're alive, have a roof over our heads and children who love us so in that respect we're lucky I suppose...

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 04/01/2019 12:54

My granny was really lucky. She basically spent her retirement entering competitions, and won so much. Off the top of my head she won a new kitchen, a car, money, it was ridiculous.

I’ve never done scratch cards or anything like that but maybe I should, perhaps I’ve inherited the lucky gene!

DragginBallsEEEE · 04/01/2019 12:55

I suppose it depends on how much you gamble/enter competitions. One of my sisters moans a lot about another sister who is very lucky but that's because sister 2 is always buying scratchcards/doing lotto/betting on horses whereas sister 1 does the lotto and that's it.

I would say I am pretty lucky in that I have won often on online bingo, I have won raffle prizes and I have won small amounts on the lotto.

MissMarplesKnitting · 04/01/2019 12:56

Hopeless. Won £16 once on euromillions, and a few lucky dios on normal lotto.

I'm the unlucky person. Never win raffles etc either 🤣

Hey ho, I'm not complaining as I'm very lucky in a lot of ways so I reckon my luck was just distributed into other areas....though enough to pay off the mortgage is all I want!! Any more I'd start giving away.

Liking your stories. My DH is not so lucky too. In his office they were looking a volunteer to do the tea/coffee kitty. No one wanted to do it so they decided to put the 20 names into a draw. They decided to do it differently and thought it would be fun to make it the last name out.
You’ve guessed it that person was DH. I think this is what’s called a booby prize.
