Why are you awake?

Seems to be quite a few people around this morning, though admittedly I'm not usually awake at this time of morning

I have D&V for the 3rd time this week. DC have had it once each. I'm terribly dehydrated but can't keep much down. I have more dioralyte and Lucozade coming in the morning in the hope that I'll be able to drink by then. I've lost 11lbs, missed out on a night out and had to cancel NYE plans. On my own with 2 DC and wondering how the hell I will get through the day on about 30mins sleep.

So why are you up/have been up early? Something equally as shitty? Come have a moan!

Insomnia and DP snoring. I should just ge5 up now.

Blackladybug · 31/12/2018 06:16

todayiwin I like that plan! I've read so many people are having a lovely night in and quite wish I could join them. This was the first year I was going to celebrate, go out somewhere nice, drink and actually see the new year in properly. Instead I'll be in bed by 8pm hoping I feel a damn site better

Loud snotty snoring going on now...and it's woken my post-babies no-longer-iron bladder up too.

Blackladybug · 31/12/2018 06:20

1.8 and 6 - I think you 6 year old will be a child carer for today.

Toast for breakfast, try a bit of dry toast yourself.

TV, lots of kids TV or a film.

Game of sleeping lions, 6 year old in charge soo how long you and toddler can keep still - so that will be about 3 mins, unless you are lucky and 1.8 year old falls asleep.

6 year old invents a game for 1.8 year old.

Lunch, more toast or sandwiches.

Afternoon nap for all 3 of you.

More TV / films

repeat.

I’m up to make sure my 18 year old gets up, gets breakfast and gets out for his 7am start at Tesco.

First day back at work after Xmas break

Blackladybug · 31/12/2018 06:33

Afternoon nap is a great point! 6YO will let me sleep when little one sleeps, and play quietly in her room. That's 2 hours I'll be able to grab. And I have lots of stuff in with my 2 grocery shops so 6YO can help herself and get things for her brother. If I make up a bottle of squash she can then pour drinks too. And yes, there's quite a bit on Netflix and sky and recorded a lot over Xmas. Plenty to watch, new toys to play with. Thank you sashh it's looking doable now!

Iputthescrewinthetuna · 31/12/2018 06:35

Up for work.
I'm only in today then have until Friday off.

Grandadwasthatyou · 31/12/2018 06:36

Lying awake after a night of tossing and turning. "D" H is in the spare bedroom for the second night running. . I think this is the end of our marriage. I've tried to make it work for the sake of the dc but I've reached the stage where I resent him and just don't care anymore. He's probably having a nice sleep despite everything.

Blackladybug · 31/12/2018 07:42

Grandadwasthatyou I'm really sorry to hear that. I think when it gets to the point where little things they do annoy you beyond all rational, it's over. I remember the exact point my marriage was over for me.

Well my6yo woke up and went on my phone for an hour, managed about 30mins sleep. And we're all up now.

Best try and tidy a little. We dumped all the cupboard stuff from our shop on the floor in the kitchen last night and just put fridge/freezer things away

Blacklady. I have tried little kicks and big kicks. He stops for a few minutes then starts again.

Blackladybug · 31/12/2018 14:17

Ear plugs, the soft mouldable ones you get for swimmers. They're pretty good.

My favourite old anti-snorer tip is to sew tennis balls - or even better those spikey ones - onto the back of their pj top or bed tshirt to keep the offender on their sides.
