2019 predictions

Firstly, piss off lazy journos.

What are your predictions for 2019? Politics, weather, celebrity stuff, trends anything. Always enjoy reading these then looking back to see if anything came true.

The world will still turn.
I won't win the lottery ( although it may help if I actually bought a ticket )

Hopefully we’ll see the back of Trump!

And get rid of the monarchy. (As in overthrow, not kill!) Or people’s obsessions with their clothes and personal lives will wain.

I think we’ve enough coffee shops on the high street now so wonder if some sort of fast food but healthy eating cafes will start up.

The end of M and S? I thought Debenhams had aleady gone! Haven’t been in for over 10 years.

I really can’t imagine how Brexit will pan out :-( With the new EU rules this week to apply to remain resident, I imagine thousands of EU workers will leave. Huge damage then done to the NHS etc.

I hope something is done re Windrush.

Universal Credit being unrolled nationwide will cause terrible harm.

Maybe that's what the government want, people will be forced to go private and the government will reduce the NHS to the barest of bones for the ones forced to use it.

I like these threads! My tuppence:

We will have significant snowfall this winter
Liverpool will win the premier league
Martial arts will take over the baton from Pilates as the exercise du jour
May will remain PM (I'm going against the grain here)
JC will go
May's Brexit deal will happen and we will be walked over in trade talks (our own fault for pissing about so long and insulting everyone)
I sadly also think it may be Philip's last Christmas
The economy will enter a long period of stagnation which we probably won't recover from
There will be thousands of migrants trying to reach Britain this summer
Debenhams will close
The U.K. will become internationally marginalised and weakened, enemies will take advantage of this
There will be a major natural disaster somewhere in the world, already a lot of volcanic activity
Gosh this is all rather depressing stuff...

My predictions:-

Harry and Meghan to move abroad by the end of 2019.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson to remarry in a private ceremony.

Putin to become increasingly hostile and destabilise the world even further.

North Korea and USA relations at an all time low with announcements made by both leaders on Twitter.

Uk plunged into another recession following no deal Brexit.

An unofficial People's vote takes place after Brexit and the overwhelming majority vote to rejoin the EU. The European Parliament says that the UK is welcome to rejoin.

Yvette Cooper and Chukka Umuna leave the Labour Party to form a new political
Party.

Teresa May resigns but is then persuaded to stay after Boris Johnson bottles it and decides he doesn't want the job and the only other contender is Michael Gove. Jacob Rees Mogg is banished from the party after undercover reporters discover that he has been involved in all sorts of dodgy dealings.

A rare species of plant is discovered in Australia and is thought to have healing properties.

Leicester City win the FA Cup.

The UK come second in the Eurovision contest.

An educational authority declares that all school meals will be vegan by 2022.

An earthquake of 5-6 magintude, will happen in the NW. Drilling company will say it's nowt to do with them.
Quite a lot of politicians will be sacked, charged & jailed for extreme dodgy dealings.
Yorkshire declares its independence.

We were talking about the San Andreas fault the other day, apparently that's overdue a big quake - unfortunately. Also Vesuvius, I hope that won't erupt.

I really don’t know what to make of Brexit shenanigans but it will go down in history as the biggest blunder.

Conservatives will destroy themselves from the inside as its job over country with them

JC will quit I think maybe keir starmer or David lammy to replace

General election

Debenhams will fold as will M&S clothes and homeware but will live on in its food halls

Prince Philip will pass this year and Charles will be king in but name

Harry and Meghan will move to states

Possibly a step up in climate change but I hope not

1. Charles will die.
2. Eugenie will have a baby.
3. Harry will be dogged by rumours of cheating.
4. May and Corbyn will disappear.
5. There’ll be an air disaster involving a BA flight.
6. Lots of celebrities will pass away, similar to 2016.
7. There’ll be some sort of new national lottery.

My gut feeling says:

1)Liverpool win Premier League (its taken them long enough!)
2) Theresa May resigns
3) Jeremy Corbyn is pushed out and replaced by Keir Starmer
4) Sadly I agree that Phillip isnt going to be with us much longer
5) Soft Brexit happens and we realise that we may as well have stayed in the EU
6) Harry and Meghans baby will be a girl. Another will follow soon after.

There'll be a murder in Midsomer.

Harry and Meghan will have a girl called Caroline Elizabeth something something (Alexandra?)

Worried about pp prediction that government will push NHS workers to brink/ tighten immigration to encourage us to go private

DH has asked if you can all stop saying that Liverpool are going to win. He's a nervous wreck already and we've got 5 months left!

This is all incredibly depressing stuff

The gov't will order all train, phone, utility companies to cut prices/increase net speed or it will do it, for them.

Scotland will announce another indyref.

Debenhams and M&S will go under, and Asda George will make it onto the high street.

with regards to the royal family: Meghan will have a girl with a non-royal name, kate and eugenie will announce pregnancies, Phillip will get sick (may or may not live, I don't want to predict that although he is 97)

Brexit won't go as badly as we all fear although I think there will be holiday problems and airport queues

there'll be terrorist attacks...there always is

Theresa May will leave after the Brexit date.

M&S will close more stores, Debenhams will go into administration and WH Smith will close most of their high street stores and just concentrate on fleecing hospital, railway and airport users. Boots will also have problems.

There'll be serious concerns about the health of either the Queen or Prince Philip.

There'll be a huge scandal involving a hospital.

Trump's wall won't be built.

A general election

Meghan and Harry to split?
