Well, here we are again, it's past 8pm, the smalls should be in bed, so for those with time on their hands here's something to keep you occupied.

Hidden in this message, I said HIDDEN, are various Christmas greetings.
What can you see? What can you find?

I would be grateful if rather than post 'the answer', one could 'PM' the particulars to the perplexed.

A thank you to the helpful Christmas Elves (Waltons are you here??)

  • May your Christmas sparkle and shine -
  • May your dreams and wishes come true -

Ba doo be dooooo

I don't 'get it' either - can I have a getting started hint please?

DanFmDorking · 26/12/2018 16:55

dementedma well done
There are 7 to find

I've sent you a PM brizzledrizzle

user1471553214 I've sent you another PM !

brizzledrizzle · 26/12/2018 16:57

Thanks for the tip. I think it is phones only?

user1471553214 · 26/12/2018 17:03

Dan you are a very kind and patient person! (and clever!) I have found the first one (fab!) but I was looking in the first line of the actual text, not the first, first line which may help other people stuck! My cat rolling his fat lumpy self over the keyboard while I'm busy looking didn't help Grin

Waltons · 26/12/2018 17:15

Well done, dementedma! Really glad you are finally in the know. Xmas Smile

DanFmDorking · 26/12/2018 17:17

brizzledrizzle A desktop or laptop should be best.

user1471553214 Excellent! keep looking Xmas Smile

I’ve had your PM Dan but still no idea. Does it definitely work on an iPad? I’m logged in through the website and also the app, but none the wiser.

Waltons · 26/12/2018 17:25

Hushabye, if it helps, you can copy and paste Dan's message into MS Word (or similar) and go from there. It will work in exactly the same way as it does online.

brizzledrizzle · 26/12/2018 17:40

I give up, I've looked on my laptop and in MS word and I can only see the message as posted.

LurkyMcLurcker · 26/12/2018 17:40

Can I have a pm too please?

ErrolTheDragon · 26/12/2018 17:46

I found it was more obvious if I pasted it into Notes on my ipad

brizzledrizzle · 26/12/2018 17:49

I've found two. Thanks.

Waltons · 26/12/2018 18:05

PM sent, Lucky Xmas Smile

Hushabyelullaby · 26/12/2018 18:13

@ErrolTheDragon thanks so much, I've found four...woohoo! I try every year, fail, and just end up giving up.

DanFmDorking · 26/12/2018 19:23

How are you getting on Lucky?

Just realised I do not know how to retrieve pms on an ipad - any idea how? I have copied it into Notes and all that is showing is approx 5 orange highlighted letters (this does not happen on the mumsnet thread). Is this the message and if so how does one work out the message?

I am never going to work this out and Christmas is now over so can you put us out of our misery and tell us how it is done please!, Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏

PavlovianLunge · 26/12/2018 23:01

Definitely got four so far. Xmas Smile

hairypaws · 26/12/2018 23:06

Please pm me too. I see this every year but never get any help Hmm to understand it. Please someone explain, thanks.

Open safari, go to MumsNet.com
You should see an icon 'My MumsNet' in the top right corner. Click that, you should get a menu including Inbox which is where the PMs are. At some point in this you'll need to log in with the email you're registered with and password, I'm not quite sure about that because I stay logged in. If you want to send PMs you need to do it from the browser version too.

The last few hints helped. I used Notes on my iPhone.
