zebedeetwinkle · 19/12/2018 14:49

I am running out of time and ideas to fill my kids stockings, three girls aged 6 and twins 4.

So far I have

  • Socks
  • Underwear
  • A Disney Doorable Surprise Pack
  • An LOL Fashion Crush thing
  • An LOL Bling Doll Ball

Any other ideas! Stockings are only half full!

Slime!

Go round the Christmas section in Asda or look in B&M or Poundland.

Are you talking about stocking as in a sock stocking as some suggestions here are what I call tree presents! As in the bits that go with their main present. For my DDs the most I could fit at their age was-

Magic gloves
Hair clips and bobbles
Tube of sweets
Water bottle for school
Bath bomb
Pom Pom key ring
Novelty lip gloss from claires

If a genuine stocking you wouldn't fit more than that!

Most ‘stocking fillers’ are just inevitable landfill. Don’t worry about adding to it, just buy a few larger, more useful items and put those in.
Book
Poster
Chocolate
Snacks they especially like such as a packet of favoured biscuits, pringles, marshmallows, whatever...
Nice stationary
A rolled up band/special interest t-shirt
Mug

Stuff like that. Nothing to end up kicked under the sofa and forgotten about. Works for all ages.

Bouncy balls.
I raid Poundland for sweeties, books, colouring things, they have snowman crafting kits at ours, mugs, stickers etc.
Flannels and bath stuff
Stuff from the tescos pocket money aisle.
A little Lego man blind bag thing
A plastic man with a parachute
Glow sticks

FourFuxxakes · 19/12/2018 23:49

A load of plastic tat that they don't need and haven't asked for that will probably end up in landfill by the end of January.

I always put a comic with all the freebies on the front and whichever ds game theyve been nagging for.

Guarantees me a few extra hours in bed >

I've got annuals, play doh, bubbles, one of those light up spinny wand things (It's a unicorn one we got from sainsburys) selection box, got some stuff from smyths to, we got a galaxy ball which lights up, washamals which are colour in animals. If they like lol the new lol hair series just came out

slappinthebass · 20/12/2018 10:41

@DaisyDreaming I remember my brother and I getting light up spinning tops. They didn't play Christmas songs, Im pretty sure they both played greensleeves. I tried in vain to find similar for my own kids stockings this year but they don't seem to exist so I got LED fidget spinners instead. It doesn't feel like chairman morning without a light up toy in the stocking when it's still dark outside.

My boys are the same age and the pound shop was brilliant.

I am trying to cut down on plastic tat this year so, colouring books, selection box, books, soft toy, pjs, box of Pringles/candy pop corn. Christmas crackers is a great idea, stealing that one.
