Ive just watched it while wrapping gifts. It hasn't aged well but I love it. (Copying a resume out of a book and not changing anything and no identity check for such a big job? Ok.)
I loved Christina Applegates fashion sense and was shocked and in awe of her smoking freely in front of her mum. It also has David Duchovny in an early role.

I loved this film and hired it repeatedly from our local video store! 😂

LoisLittsLover · 17/12/2018 18:33

I loved this!! Where did you find it to watch again?

ImRightOnTopOfThatRose · 17/12/2018 21:56

As my nn implies I'm a huge fan. Where did you get it?

CheddarIsNotTheOnlyCheese · 20/12/2018 09:39

It's on Amazon prime but it's not free.

I love this film! I brought a copy a while back. I don't think it's aged that badly, classic themes.

The whist the couch argument is my favourite!

IHaveBrilloHair · 20/12/2018 09:42

I've got the DVD it's fabulous

DragonMamma · 20/12/2018 09:44

This was my go to film to watch when I was sick and off school. I bloody loved it!

They need to make films like this again 😀

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes · 20/12/2018 09:48

Top film. I agree it hasn't aged that well but I don't care. I love how messy the house is. Makes me feel better about my own hovel. I read that the actor who played her younger brother Zach died. How sad.

ImRightOnTopOfThatRose · 20/12/2018 09:52

"Oh Sue Ellen every woman over the age of 25 should have a cucumber in the house."

I remember asking my mum what that meant and she said to put on your eyes. Then you see Swell with some on her eyes. It wasn't until I was older I got it. Grin

knittedjest · 20/12/2018 09:53

Love it!

One of daughters name is Rose and I'll get right on top of it Rose is such a common phrase in my house.

I miss the movies of that generation so much. So cheesy, so badly acted and styled, but somehow so much more authentic and heartfelt than movies today are.

BloodyBing · 20/12/2018 09:55

Loved that film. Watched it do much as a young 'un

CheddarIsNotTheOnlyCheese · 20/12/2018 09:57

I used to hate Carolyn (the snotty receptionist) but have to say the way that job was just given to Sue Ellen would have pissed me right off too. HmmGrin

Love this film, is it back on Netflix I wonder...Grin if not I need to purchase it. This was my staple go to film when I was younger

DragonMamma · 20/12/2018 10:14

I’m definitely watching it today - thank you OP!

YouGotRedOnYou · 20/12/2018 20:57

Just finished watching this because of this thread. Forgot Josh Charles was in it. Winona Ryder was supposed to play Swell. I love her but can't imagine anyone else in that role. Christina rocks.

RoseReally · 20/12/2018 21:00

Love this film too! They don't make 'em like that anymore. Never noticed the cucumber thing Shock
