Why is your friend now an ex friend?

Mine is an ex friend because

  • she borrowed money that she never paid back
  • she was only around when she had problems. Vanished when I did.

She smacked my dog. He'd put a dirty paw on her outside doorstep in his excitement at her coming out to join us on a walk.

Done.

crosser62 · 06/12/2018 18:50

Don’t know. I was essentially just cut off.
No argument, no incident, nothing.
Strange woman.

wallyfeatures · 06/12/2018 18:54

(He) peed all over the back of my house at a house party, was abusive and aggresive with my other friends. Bye bye! This was after 6 years of friendship. I'd always excused his drinking, but seeing how he behaved towards my friends was an eye-opener.

TheGreenDot · 06/12/2018 18:55

She ghoasted me after a failed relocation in my part.
Thing is looking at her history with other people I should have expected it.

jacqattacq · 06/12/2018 18:55

She wasn’t there for me when I really needed support (awful year, so many bad things happened) because she was too interested in her new relationship. I put up with it for months but then she cancelled on me one too many times and I just had enough of feeling horrible about myself because she didn’t care.

delilabell · 06/12/2018 18:57

I was cut off when the rspca found one of her dogs nearly dead through starvation and the other dead in the bin. Never saw my godson again.
I decided to end a friendship with an old school friend I'd re met because after 3 years she told me it had been a bet between her and another friend for who could make me her "best" friend.

hidinginthenightgarden · 06/12/2018 18:58

Set me up with her step-brother, knowing he would "screw me and fuck me off". Then spent months telling everyone we met that I slept with her brother.

MrsScamander · 06/12/2018 18:59

She...

  • kicked off when friend A couldn't travel miles out of her way to pick something up for her (apparently if she couldn't save £15 by buying this item at the particular shop my friend was near her children's Christmas would be ruined)
  • kicked off at me and another friend when we gently told her she WBU
  • sent messages to friend A saying that me and friend B hated friend A and couldn't be bothered to come to her wedding (not true, we both went!)
  • just generally a very negative, draining person who never had anything positive to say. Spreading malicious gossip about Friend C "faking" an ectopic pregnancy and constantly bitching about other people
  • it's been over a year now and my life is blissfully drama free Grin
nbee84 · 06/12/2018 19:00

Realised that all we had in common was our shared school days and that her 'I'm outspoken and tell it like it is' was actually her justifying being rude and bitchy.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 06/12/2018 19:01

I realised that, if she was speaking nastily about other people to me, she was certainly speaking nastily about me to others. That was the thin end of the wedge, but ultimately her negative attitude and disparaging comments did for any connection we might have had.

Crikeyblimey · 06/12/2018 19:02

Went round to visit her and she ‘nipped out for 5 minutes’ leaving me with her 5 and 9 year olds. She was gone till 2am. Her husband (working away) rang twice! Pre mobile phones. She came home - I left - didn’t contact her again.

Kikithewitch · 06/12/2018 19:04

Her husband crashed into my car and caused £700 worth of damages, we agreed not to go through insurance and he would get the car repaired. He kept putting it off and then denied it was him. Fucker. Angry
Oh then my lovely FIL died and she didn’t even acknowledge it or send any condolences.
She can fuck right off, I see her every day at school and her smug face really annoys me.

TheMagician · 06/12/2018 19:07

Mine is an ex friend because after a decade of supporting her she got cross with me cos i didnt respond to her messages quickly enough. I work ft.

TheMagician · 06/12/2018 19:08

Omg @crikeyblimey

IfyouseeRitaMoreno · 06/12/2018 19:09

She was always late and would just start texting on her phone mid conversation.

Crikeyblimey · 06/12/2018 19:11

I know! She went out at approx 7pm and I put her children to bed! They were lovely. I got no explanation. We had been friends / work colleagues for years. Thankfully by this stage we didn’t work together.

I bumped into her years later. I was polite.

Starlighting888 · 06/12/2018 19:11

Just that nb84 a few of them and because they just didn’t make any effort. Took me awhile but eventually got fed up of doing all the visiting, travelling, asking about them when absolutely no of it was returned! And more importantly realistically not liking them anymore but feeling guilty and bound to be their friends!

toastfiend · 06/12/2018 19:14

She attempted to deliberately sabotage my relationships with other friends/boyfriends and completely stopped making any effort to keep in contact with me once I met my now DH. I basically just felt that she was only happy if I was unhappy and she'd often make comments or tell me things to deliberately undermine my confidence. It just started to feel like a really toxic relationship and I decided I'd be much happier without her in my life. I miss the friendship I thought we had but I don't miss the reality.

Unsurprisinglysurprising · 06/12/2018 19:14

Upset me and others with obnoxious behaviour. Ignored me. Didn't even know about a major life event that took place because she was too busy to get in touch. Was also too busy to congratulate me when baby was born. Relied on me to bank roll her social life. Only talked about herself. Cancelled New Year's Eve arrangements at the last minute leaving me with no plans. Not much of a loss!

arealmummakesherownluck · 06/12/2018 19:14

Ex friend is an ex friend because she was a pain in the arse on my wedding day morning and on my hen do. I could also blame my cousin who seems to be able to pull out competitive vain behaviour in just about everyone that she meets.

Bluemascara4 · 06/12/2018 19:18

Her husband made a pass at me. I told him where to go.

She refused to believe me and called me a slag. Ten years of friendship ended .

She later divorced him as he had an affair .

She then sent me a FB friend request...... er no!!!!!

thebear1 · 06/12/2018 19:19

Just drifted, no drama.

NC123334 · 06/12/2018 19:19

When I had to have a mastectomy, the first thing she asked was how my DH felt having to look at me topless.

Ilovealexa · 06/12/2018 19:20

I fell head over heels in love with her OH. Awkward.

Vinorosso74 · 06/12/2018 19:25

She only cared about herself and thought things in her life were always worse than anyone else's. Tight-often 4 of us would meet up for drinks and dinner. She very rarely bought a round, when she took our tip money back as her change I was gobsmacked but another friend put her right.
Myself and one other just had enough so ghosted her which I know wasn't nice but seriously we could take no more!
