Stomach bug or food poisoning?

How do you know if you’ve got a stomach bug or food poisoning? I am so ill. :( I ate a cheesy tuna pasta bake which was a day past the use by date but think it’s coincidence. I’m not sure if it even matters. I’m potificating as I’ve not slept and can’t get comfy due to the pain. This sucks!

You would have to give a stool sample to find out I'm guessing. If it doesn't clear up quickly RING your surgery for advice.

When did you eat it? Did it smell or taste off in any way?

If the symptoms came on soon after eating it may be because of that. Having said that it was only a day past the expiry, not a week.

Unless it is very severe, same advice goes as a usual stomach bug.

So rest up, keep hydration levels up, eat dry toast etc if you can manage it.

I ate it Friday late lunchtime and the diarrhoea started in that night. I do doubt it was that, to be honest. Probably coincidence. Either way, I’m assuming it’s a bug, so keeping away from the family.

It smelt ok but had the watery cheesy look but not sure if all ready meals look similar.

It’s hard to tell the difference between bugs and food poisoning, but if it started so soon after you ate the pasta bake then that’s fairly likely to be the cause. Hope you feel better soon Flowers
