I’m looking for a recommendation of somewhere to take dd to eat pre-theatre near the Empire on a Sunday evening.

Any suggestions?

We've had v good Lebanese, pizza and curry on Bold Street in the past.

AlexanderHamilton · 25/11/2018 20:07

Dd likes what she calls Levant food. Dh has to avoid salt.

Loads of great places on Bold Street, it’s only a five minute walk to the Empire.

Sure this will be useful

Yes Bold street is a great suggestion. I love Mowgli (Indian).
Check out the indépendant Liverpool blog/instagram too for more inspiration.

Loads of places on Bold Street. Or Casa Italia on Stanley Street is a favourite of ours. Gorgeous traditional family run place but they don’t take bookings and are very popular so you’d have to queue.

AlexanderHamilton · 25/11/2018 21:25

Dh isn’t good at queuing (hidden disability) so that one might be out but we will check out the other suggestions.

Bold Street! SO many great places...the Mexican place on the left (walking towards the bombed out church) is good...can't remember the name!

crockofcrackers · 25/11/2018 21:29

Alma De Cuba and Mowgli are both great Smile

I went to Antep Turkish on London Road, gorgeous food and relatively cheap! Customer service is amazing!

Maray in Bold Street. Great atmosphere and lots of small plates of food. Delicious

If you need a chain restaurant then ask and La tasca are 2 mins away
Or salt house tapas in l1 or Bacaro castle street ( walk tho) but bold street has loads of good restaurants too

AlexanderHamilton · 25/11/2018 22:06

Don’t mind if it’s chain or independent. They would normally go for sushi when not with me but that’s too salty for dh now. Also needs to be not too calorie laden but other than that the only requirement is they need to be at the theatre on time.

@LikeLadyGodiva I love the old man who sings with a sombero and poncho on outside there in all weathers!!

LikeLadyGodiva · 25/11/2018 22:45

Bless him! Such a character ! I also really like the old fashioned cafe that serves Scouse across the road ...
that’s the great thing about Bold street, there’s something for everyone

Bakchich serves Lebanese food. There’s a v busy branch on Bold St and a bigger and less crowded one next door to the Playhouse (not far from the Empire)
