Hi need a bit of a hand hold and some sense knocked into me!
Single parent to 4 week old DD. Split from ex before my booking in. He’s not been in touch apart from a couple of texts since. He’s not on her birth certificate and we have everything we need and a completely new life.
I am confident if me and ex had stayed together I would have been miserable.
However, this week I’ve had to text him to sort out a couple of child maintenance bits. We have both been totally formal and have exchanged less than 50 words between us. He did not ask about DD at all he has however agreed to pay for her.
Since then I have wanted to send him a picture of her. I know I have no reason to. He has made it clear he doesn’t want to be involved and deep down I know I can and will be doing this without him.
Also my whatsapp display picture is DD so he has seen her and that hasn’t prompted him to ask about her, so it’s a case of no message being the message.
I guess what I really need is someone to tell me not to send a picture and forget about trying to engage with him.
